Baby jogger city mini gt: parent facing seat?

Hi all. I have a bjcm gt and love it so far. My daughter is huge (100th centile) and at 5 months is well out of her bassinet. I have been using her cabriofix car seat on the top of the pushchair but I don't like to leave her in there too long and she's also nearly outgrown the car seat, too Shock.

I've tried her in the fabric seat that comes with the bjcm but just think she's a bit young / I am a bit fussy, and I want to be able to see her when we're walking! I was wondering if anyone knows whether there are any other brand face-to-face / parent facing pushchair seats that might work with the bjcm gt? I suspect the answer might be 'no, you can't do that' but I'm asking in hope! Thanks so much Smile

No, if you want a baby jogger that is parent facing you need the versa model. It's a completely different pushchair with a bucket type seat that you can switch around, although it has the same fold and style as other bj.

Just out of interest, I would get some specific advice re: the car seat. I agree that you shouldn't leVe her too long in the car seat but my DS and DD were both of the fe tiles (6 foot 7 husband) for length and neither had out grown out maxi cosi pebble car seat at 5 months

I think the Cabriofix is smaller than the Pebble. And it's definitely smaller than a Britax Babysafe (I used both, my daughter didn't outgrow the Babysafe by height until she was over 2 1/2 years old, and has only just hit the 13kgs weight limit now she's 3 1/2!)

There are loads of bigger rear facing seats about, but I would recommend a seatbelt-fitted one because they have a 25kgs weight limit for the child and have a longer backrest. In general ISOFIX only go up to 18kgs and tall children will outgrow them before they are 3.

Thanks all. Think will just have to put up with it forward facing (not going to buy another pushchair) but will look at the bigger car seats that might fit on there thanks. The top of her head (with newborn wedge removed) is about an inch off the top of the cabriofix.

Thanks again.

Just had a thought. Which carry cot were you using? If it's the compact carry cot it might be worth looking into the fact they have a new deluxe version out which is supposed to be bigger. It might only last you another month or 2 and they aren't cheap but you might get one second hand cheaper, and then sell on.

Another thing to consider is that although your main concern was she isn't forward facing anymore, using a cocoon type snuggle in the main seat might help you feel she is more secure and the transition from carrycot to seat.
