Live up a flight of stairs

Hello, have been directed here from the pregnancy boards :)

So we live in a house but it has a reasonable amount of quite steep outdoor steps to get to the front door so really need a pram that will be lightweight and easy to fold! Also easy to take on trains. Needs to be suitable from birth.

Any ideas much appreciated :)

A baby jogger city mini would fit the bill or I have the baby jogger city zip and it folds one handed - I've been able to get up flights of stairs holding the baby, the buggy and all my bags. Both of them have a nice easy handle to carry them with once they are folded (it's the fold handle) and take a car seat if that's of interested. The zip folds smaller and free stands when folded, which I appreciate.

Definitely a baby jogger. So easy to fold and carry with one hand. They are fab for lots of other reasons too - large sunshade, easy to push, large seat DD1 at nearly 5 still fits in ours.

Also take a look at the Babyzen Yoyo. It has a very small fold and a handy carrying strap. Plus the newborn cocoon is parent facing. The sunshade isn't as good as the Baby Jogger and the rain cover isn't great, but otherwise it is amazing for such a small, light pushchair.

I love our baby jogger city mini but I still wouldn't want to carry it up any more than a few steep steps with baby in the other arm on a regular basis.
It's really rare that you'd go out with ONLY the buggy and baby, most of the time you'll have at least a changing bag / handbag, or shopping, etc so I would imagine most of the time you'll be carrying baby in one arm and bag/shopping in the other, and leave pushchair for the next trip. So might not matter too much if you can carry both baby and buggy in one go.
Would be handy to have a play pen near the door once baby gets to rolling stage...

Thanks everyone :) you are right moggle I think it will be carrying the baby up and then the pram. Luckily our road is pretty safe so I don't think it will get nicked in the short time I leave it for :)

I have a babyzen yoyo and it folds very small and is light, so great for carrying up stairs, public transport (fits through the normal London underground gate) etc.
