How do I phase the pushchair out?

2.1yo DD is happy to walk but I walk atleast 4 miles a day for the school run and usually more if going to activities or shopping and it takes forever.

We use our Emmaljunga day to day because which I love but obviously its not entirely practical to push a big, empty fixed wheel pushchair around everywhere incasr she wants to hitch a ride, we also have a baby jogger city mini for travel but tbh despite loving it with my first I hate it this time as it seems to have a mind of its own and veers off to one side when pushing with one hand.

My eldest was happy to hop in the pushchair until 3.5yo but I doubt DD will be too happy for much longer.

Did you find it easier to keep pushchair and put an unhappy DC in it whilst you were rushing or do I need to force DS out the door half an hour earlier to get to school on time at toddler pace? Or maybe she'll get quicker with time?

Scooter? Carrier which u can keep in your bag till toddler dawdling becomes irritating enough to justify the carry? I have a toddler connecta solarweave for the purpose.
Though with 4 miles plus shopping I would push an empty pushchair for part of the walk for a while longer

I managed to persuade her to sit in the pushchair on the way home today as it was raining so I'm hoping I can get away with it for a little while longer when I need it.

She does have a scooter but is only just learning so is very slow at the moment but will keep practicing on shorter walks.

I was thinking of another carrier, I had a baby Solarweave which was great then upgraded to a toddler one and could never get it comfy for some reason so I stupidly sold it

I understand where you're coming from. Ds2 is 2.3 and not over keen on the pushchair either. At this point when he has to go in it he gets forced in quickly and I ignore the outrage.

He is much happier in my back. I used to have a Connecta which was great until I tried back carries over a few months old and it was dreadfully uncomfortable. I changed to a Tula in the end after several rentals to find the comfiest. I need the waist support which the connecta doesnt give. I can hardly feel I'm carrying him now and The pushchair (a city mini gt, much easier to push than the bjcm) only really comes out in bad weather or long days out where its useful to carry all the gubbins and I can get a break.

Get a balance bike. My 3 DC have used the same one - a Puky LRM - the smallest we could find when looking to buy one for DC1 (spruced up with a new paint job for DC3!). All were able to use it by just after their 2nd birthday.
We take ours everywhere and never have to worry about the youngest getting fed up and tired when out walking.

Having said all that, I really miss using our buggy, so handy for piling all the coats, bags and tons of 'stuff' on.
