I love the buggy, and have used it for 2 x1 year olds when looking after a friends lo. but how does it work for a toddler (2y3m) and newborn? I would miss the parent facing pram bit, but it would be nice to have them both in one buggy, even though my son loves walking/running away! Or should I just not bother and use mei tai sling and my very easy little mothercare stroller that l can actually lift and get in my car boot?! So confused as to bother wasting anymore money!!

In newborn mode you remove the lower seat, recline the upper seat flat and fix it on at the front of the pushchair. You will need the hinged elbows for some models. The P&Ts parts shop should be able to help.

Just to add, so your baby lies flat on the main seat which is underneath the doubles kit. Your eldest will go on the doubles kit which is now on top. You can put the baby in a cocoon if you wish, or pad the newborn out with blankets.

Oh I see that makes sense, I'll look into it, can you properly see the baby and is it possible to place them so they are facing me? Sorry just thinking of the logistics! And how old would the baby need to be to go 'under' or does the toddler go (get strapped!!) under? Thanks.

No, the baby needs to be forward facing...hold on let me find a pic....like the 3rd photo here.

The baby is supposed to stay here until 6 months old but in reality most babies grow out of this space sooner. What happens next depends on your pushchair. If your P&Ts has a reclining doubles kit then you should be ok. If it doesn't, then you may wish to look at buying a reclining doubles kit so that the baby can nap. If you put the toddler underneath, then you probably wont be able to recline the top seat enough for the baby to lie down to nap without compromising your toddler too much. P&Ts are most problematic from the time the baby grows out of the newborn phase until say 12 months old.

I can't imagine a 2.3 year old fitting on the top seat very well really. It's much smaller than when they sit at the back.
