Britax b motion?

Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone knows a release date for the b motion? and any idea of pricing? first stockists?

I've emailed Britax but got no reply as yet. Their website says 'coming soon' but goggle tells me nothing and you lot definatley seem to know your stuff :)

The b agile ticks most boxs for me, but the b motion air tryes and movable handlebar are slight improvements to the b agile that makes it almost perfect for my use.

Thanks

I don't know the timescales but the couple of things I do know (as in was told by Britax so I bet are subject to change) is that the B Motion is an exclusive for a national store as Mothercare are the only store to have the agile twin and agile 3. It is supposed to be circa £249 and did look pretty good when we saw it.

I really liked my b agile, already thought it was quite good over rough urban terrain so the B Motion with the better suspension and Air tyres should be great. The rest of the buggy appears to be essentially identical though so there is the slightly reclined seat of the b agile that seems to cause come children to slump in them.

I am assuming that it will appear sometime in the summer if not before but really who knows on that score, things can and frequently do get delayed.

Hope that helps!

Thank you ihateparties for your reply.

Britax got back to me saying the B motion will be realised at some point this year but other than that they didn't know further info about it like costs or retailers.

Ha, it probably depends who you ask!

The Britax website now says "Kiddicare Exclusive" if you look on the accessories tab in the B-motion details... but no sign on the Kiddicare website yet.

Hi I contacted them today, rep £249. The lady I spoke to though said it his the same seat as the b agile so I'm thinking there might be the same 'slumping problem' with this too. If anyone manages to get a look at it somewhere to see if seat is the same then let me know! Also does anyone know of any ways round the slumping issue with the affinity x x x

Can't unpack properly atm but will have good look tonight and report back if you want

I have high hopes as the b agile was almost perfect, this looks to have improved tyres and suspension but I think its heavier so will have to see.

It looks to come with bumper bar, which is nice addition though.

It is heavier, when I saw it I didn't think it was too bad though and was hoping it would be worth it for the other features.

BTW if you do have the issue with the seat it's very easy to run a strap around the back and make it more upright, then the child doesn't slump. I did that with my b agile.

I'm currently playing B Motion vs BJCMGT

I am hoping to get a B-Motion too. I will be interested to hear how you find it.

Dying to hear what you think of the stroller? I thinking of getting one, I have an 11 month old who likes to sit bolt upright to see whats going on (so noisy!) I have some reservations about the incline of the seat, how bad is it, fully upright? We currently have McLaren Quest Sport, the wheels are just too small for dealing with bad footpaths!

justwaiting it's not very upright unless there has been a change to the one we saw. It's easy to add a sit up strap though, if you like the rest of it it's worth it to sort out the seating position, if you're indifferent it probably isn't. Also obviously bear in mind the any reasoning britax might have for not making it fully upright...if there is anything tipping risk would be first on the list.

Sorry to gatecrash but what is a sit up strap Ihateparties and where can i get one?

I'm thinking of upgrading my b mobile to a b motion as it seems to have fixed everything I hate about the b mobile, but dd is always trying to sit up bolt upright when she can't.

Thanks :-)

One year baby jogger included sit up straps, i don't know what they were like specifically.

I am talking about adding something yourself to make the seat sit more upright. On my b agile I used a piece of webbing strap looped between both sides of the frame at the point where it would hold the backrest more upright. Velcro held the ends together, had to take the whole thing off to recline, which was a bit annoying so I made a strap for each side, held round the frame with poppers that fastened in the centre with velcro so that only needed undoing to recline rather than totally removing.

I liked the b agile a lot but it was impossible with a buggyboard, if there is space for a child to stand on the b motion i think i need one!

Also intrigued by sit up straps. My main niggle with most pushchairs is that DS likes to sit bolt upright and I hate him to slump too. Main reason I shelled out for a cam when he'll only fit in it for another year if we're lucky

Have a google, i'm sure there will be an image of the baby jogger ones somewhere. I do think that there will sometimes be reasons for seats not being that upright on some pushchairs. The tipping tests are quite stringent now, if you do something that adversely affects the balance of a pushchair (the same applies to bags on handles etc) then you need to be very aware of it. I didn't find this with the b agile but with different pushchairs the effect might be different, esp with a child moving in a pushchair. Which incidentally I have no idea how they account for in testing.

Great, thanks for that I'll get someone to do that for me Grin

Steph Why do you think the Affinity has a slumping issue. I have an Affinity and its fab. There's no slumping here but there is with the B-Agile.

Sit upright strap info here. Its basically a webbed strap with some velcro on which you wrapped around the frame and stuck back on itself once you had pulled it tight. Not rocket science but great!

That's almost precisely what I made for the agile. Makes a big difference.
