Is the standard footmuff for the versa any good? I am a footmuff snob. I think I read Rooney said there were issues with it? Anyone recommend a good universal one or are the bj ones good?
I read "versa" as "versus" And couldn't see the comparison.
I heard they arent that good. It depends on your money really! The VIB ones look good. Buggysnuggles fit. The Bugaboo ones look good. Or at the top end, theres the Kaiser and 7AM Enfant footmuffs. I would think that most universal footmuffs will fit though.
Do you think a quinny buzz muff would fit? I love it, hate the kind hard, fold over style. Quinny is gorgeous sleeping bag material.
I dont see why not. It used to go great on my Peach and the seats are similar.
You're right, I didn't like it!
The nicest footmuffs I've had have been by cosatto (but a long time ago) and quinny - the one for the freestyle in fact is superb, that's an old model but even then they knew a thing or two.
Also if you want to go well posh, look at Kaiser - especially their sheepskin sort. Ohh yes
Buggysnuggle also good but a bit saggy I find.
I have ordered the versa today (I am so weak). I bloody hope the quinny footmuff fits it as I really, REALLY Don't want to she'll out more cash and I love it. It's by far the best I've seen. But haven't seen the kaiser (and don't want to!!!!!
)
Hi, we got our Versa and Versa footmuff 2weeks ago and really didn't like the footmuff! The seat area shortens and lengthens and when at it shortest, the footmuff is too big. The material is stiff stopping the footmuff being cosy around our daughter.
We decided to buy a Wallaboo, but it doesn't fit properly. I am now doubtful that many of the universal ones will. The problem being the straps are quite specifically placed and the holes in the universal ones I've seen just won't match up. Also many footmuffs fit by a sort of hood slipping over the back of the buggy, the problem here it that it totally covers the folding controls :-(
We are continuing our search, if anybody does find a perfect fit please let us know!
Very interested to hear if Quinny or Bugaboo for. About to buy a Versa and hoping not to have to reuse my super irritating Kaiser that constantly slipped off my, equally irritating Britax vigour (guess why I'm upgrading pushchair for DC2).
Will watch with interest.
Ooh I must apologis to Tiggy, I didn't read her post before I posted an she'd already mentioned most of the stuff I did!
I will try a few of my colleciopn of footmuffs on the versa when ds3 gives me a chance to do anything two handed, today - and report back! To try: Kaiser, (already on there actually - and it's way too long for the footrest, so we can count that out) Buggy snuggle with sheep on, bugaboo (will be too long for sure, I think) Quinny, and babydan.
Ooo yes, also interested in finding out which footmuff works on the versa as have one on order too.
MoMcK- can I ask which wallaboo you tried? A friend has lent me her newborn pram/carseat footmuff, which I was hoping to use in the versa seat after baby moves out of the carrycot. Is this the one you bought or the standard larger wallaboo?
Brilliant Rooney! Can't wait to hear if the Quinny footmuff fits. Hope DS gives you 10 mins to try them all!!!!
Right. I am back.
It was not worth the wait, I'm afraid!
only just done it.
Typing with one finger as ds is crying again but basically, none of the ones I have fit. Not a single one. this is with the footrest in its shorter position btw. The thing is, the end of the footrest is fairly narrow and curved and nearly all the ones I have are square ended, so of course they don't fit it= your Quinny one might, mine's from the freestyle. that was the closest fit, it was the right length at least but as someone said, the backrest being attached to the hood stops you from tucking anything behind, like a flap etc.
The bugaboo ones were a bit too long as were the buggysnuggles.
Sorry it's not more helpful. You need to look fr footmuffs from other brands / the more modern prams like the icandy, etc all have similar shaped footrests I think, babystyle oyster etc as well, so perhaps they shape their muffs for this.
Bummer. Hoping the buzz muff fits a bit better. Thanks for the info though Rooney! I am wondering if some of that sticky velcro would be strong enough to hold the muff at the top of the seat if there is nothing to tuck it behind...
If you pull the hood totally open and then fold it back again, the footmuff may well sit behind the rear fold of the hood. I dont see why you could not undo the velcro at the back of the seat and put an envelope topped / flap footmuff over the back?
Haha seen this conversation in 'active' and thought it was something else entirely, nice title!
Still pondering what one could do with their feet that might equal the first thing...
Apologies for the interruption
Honestly some people's minds
Tiggy, would that work with the folding handle there? I guess it might.
Hahaha! Nice one, I never even noticed that!
Looking forward to my versa arriving so I can try the buzz muff, not sure I understand what you mean tiggywunkle but sure it will be patently clear when I have it in front of me
I dont think it would get in the way too much...I haven't got my Versa in front of me, but I guess you would arrange the top around the fold button / recline handle? Maybe a Bugaboo footmuff with the Donkey handle cut out may be an idea?
Went to JL on Oxford Street to road test Versa and get go ahead from DH- he liked it tho' is pretty heavy.
Anyway, salesman managed to fit a bugaboo footmuff on pretty neatly and loop it over the recline handle bit at the back- had to unfasten then refasten hood but it seemed pretty doable. So am going silver versa and bright (eBay) footmuff - in an attempt to distract from my likely post birth wobble.
Cursing self for having given away quinny footmuff tho'!
