Uppababy Vista or Bugaboo Chameleon

Need some help deciding between them. My husband is sold on the Bugaboo but I'm torn. Will be doing lots of in town walking, maybe a bit of forest/canal path type walking and I'd like baby to be completely flat in a bassinet.

The big selling point of bugaboo is parent facing toddler. Both compatible with maxi cosy so another plus.

Please can you help us choose. Or is there another we should be considering? Thanks!

I have no idea about the vista but love our bugaboo. Have had to 3 1/2 years now, 2 children used and looks and works like new. Have always used in parent facing position

That's so good to hear, thank you. If its still just as good having been used for 2 children then it's well worth the money!

Hello.
We looked at the Vista (loved it!). It parent faces as well I believe - not sure if that now changes things. It is much better value for money than the Bugaboo and pushes well. Child is higher up than the Bugaboo which I always think has a low-ish seat.
If you're thinking of having it for a bit and selling on, then a factor to consider is the high resale value of the Bugaboos.
Go to bestbuggy.co.uk and look at the pictures and reviews of each - it's a really helpful website

Oh and also - Bugaboo used to be a 2 piece fold. Not sure if the newest model is now a 1 piece fold - worth checking it out. Vista folds in 1 piece.

Yes bugaboo is still a two piece fold. The seat lifts off they frame folds. We don't fold thy often so not sure how important this is. We do however use bugaboo on London buses and with the handle down etc it fits in better than umbrella maclarens Iv seen on there.

Just another heads up as was important to us, the bugaboo is certified as safe for overnight sleeping ( so can use instead of Moses basket or if travelling)- not sure about the vista but not many buggy have this ( due to ventilation etc).

The bassient is a wet good size also and we used for 7 months

Ok, both the Vista and the Cameleon parent face and forward face.
The Cam is a 2 piece fold, the Vista is a one piece fold FF only.
Both carrycots are supposed to be certified for overnight sleeping and if anything the Vista carrycot is better ventilated - plus the Vista carrycot is gorgeous!
I would suggest the Cam would probably be better for your off road walking as you can flip the handle over and use it with the big wheels forwards and the small wheels at the back.
You get the Maxi Cosi car seat adaptors in the Vista box.
Both are excellent and I would go with whichever one you prefer TBH.

Thank you all for your help, there really isn't much in it then, apart from price!! We wouldn't be folding often as we live in a town with everything we need on our doorstep, we also have space to push it straight into our house and store it erect. Didn't know the vista was parent facing too, that's good to hear. And delighted both certified for sleeping in, will be good when visiting grandparents to be. I do like that the bugaboo is one unit and you just un do the Velcro, so not much to store when they move up to the next stage. Will have a look at the website, thank you!! So much to think about, might have to toss a coin . . .

This was the exact two that our choice came down to as well. We ended up going to the buggy centre and actually had a feel about with both. They were so similar but in the end so alike that we ended up with the Vista because it was £200 less.

I love my vista! Especially how high the ride is for baby, compared to the bugaboo. Very good value for money too! We do lots of off roading too!

Choosing a pram is so stressful! Good luck!

I bought Vista having narrowed my favs to the same two finalists. I chose Vista and do not regret it for a sec, particularly due to its basket which is gigantic and the price difference which is significant esp once you take into account visor and adaptors. I carried vast vast amounts of shopping in the pram and I have no doubt Cam would have failed where Vista was still going strong. Good luck!

Sorry to hijack your thread flipflump but I was having the exact same debate! DH and I have just been to try them both out and the Cam came out on top in terms of usability. But they are both beautiful. I think it depends what you're looking for. We don't have a car and I would have to take the buggy up and down stairs and although the Cam might means two trips, it's a lot easier to fold and a little narrower than the vista so better for the bus/tube. The vista would be better for off-road trips though but you can have the larger wheels at the front on the Cam so there might not be much in it in practice.

Not sure if I've helped much but suppose it depends what your priorities are! Good luck!

You know that Bugaboo are bringing out a new, more off road buggy called the Buffalo? When do you need the buggy by? Having said that, I love my Vista.

Thanks everyone, it's a tough choice. We'll be off road a few times per month, around town daily and rarely folding. Not concerned by weight as we're not in a flat or facing stairs. They are both compatible with maxi cosi and both parent facing, making the decision harder. I guess it comes down to price in the end. Think this confirms we need to go back and look at them carefully again. We know we want all black, again both tick this box. So pleased to hear everyone is happy with their choice, whatever they went for and good to hear others have been in our position. It's definitely between these 2. I know I should go with the vista as its cheaper but I LOVE the cam - eeeeek.

You know what? If you love the Bugaboo, get that. This is something you will use every day and the price difference isn't that much.

Thank you CruCru, you're right!! I'm getting a bugaboo as that's what we both want. It will stand the test of time and of we're lucky enough to have DC2 then it will be worth every penny.
