Pushchairs

Uppababy cruz, BJCM4 or versa?

I was pretty sure I wanted a BJCM4 but think I would prefer a parent facing pushchair instead. I saw a mum with an Uppababy vista and liked the height and huge basket but knew I couldn't justify the price, but have since discovered the Cruz! The price is v similar to the Versa but it looks better (to me) and the adjustable handlebar will be useful as I'm 5'2 and DH is 6'.

Which is better, the versa or cruz? It would be mostly for the school run, shopping and will need to be used on public transport occasionally. I'm concerned that they are both quite a bit heavier than the BJCM4 and I dont plan on getting another buggy (already have a micralite toro with carrycot to use from birth and a maclaren volo)

Erm versa versa versa versa

versa.

The end.

Actually the cruz is okay but the lack of suspension might be very irritating. Would you prefer a slightly smaller open package or suspension? What's important to you is more important than recommendations really but the versa is straight up great! A bit big but not difficult to lift and pushing is extremely light.

Thanks, I see you prefer the versa Grin

What is the problem with suspension on the cruz? also read that some people on here have had problems with the size folded.

Apparently the cruz is long folded but imho so is the versa so that wouldn't worry me personally. i don't know the exact dimensions off the top of my head. I know tiggy has had all three of your list so i'm sure she will have some comments at some point. I know she finds the cruz to have a hard ride, there isn't much give in the suspension so you feel every bump. Your pushing environment might give you a clue as to whether you think this would matter to you.

I'm entirely unsure whether you should listen to me, i'm waxing lyrical about the versa but i didn't replace it when mine went back under the recall of the first batch. :- s Tbh i think it's a bit big for me but my youngest (and definitively last) is pushing one and i'm obsessed with compact pushchairs, it just depends on your outlook...

Versa, Versa, Versa, Versa, Versa, Versa, Versa, Versa, Versa, Versa Grin
Am I more enthusiastic than ihateparties???!!

Cruz - absolutely rock hard. Yes you can see there is suspension but it does nothing much even if you jump up and down on the handlebar. I have tried mine something like 3 times in the hope I can get some suspension out of it and I cant. So ihateparties and I jumped (and pushed more gently too!) on one in a local shop and theirs didn't budge either. The rest of the Cruz is actually not too bad but it is large folded. Its fairly light and the seat is easy peasy to turn and as light as a feather. If only it had some decent suspension then it would be a winner for me. But I simply can't push it because it hurts after a bit.

I would get the Versa for the parent facing TBH. It looks better in carrycot mode too. Worst case and you hate it, they should have a resale value enough to swap for a BJCM4. But I have had all 3 of these and the Versa is outstanding. The Toro and Volo are there for when you need something light weight :)

Thanks, I will go and have a look at the versa next weekend and test it!

Hi, apologies for jumping into this conversation but I've just been considering the cruz, versa & vista...I've looked at the cruz and vista and like both, though as my LO is 7 months I dont need really need the carrycot on the vista. My question about the versa is how upright does the baby sit? My LO doesnt really like reclining at all....Many thanks in advance

The Vista seat can go really upright. Its got excellent choices of recline TBH.
