Stokke advice

Are they worth the money? I love the concept of the parent facing and height adjustment, I don't rally like any others but they just seem quite clumpy. I will need it for dog walking and need it to fit in the back of a vwgolf with everything else needed for long journeys. 1st baby completely lost with things like this!!

Honestly, the Stokke is not a pushchair for dog walking if you plan to go off a pavement. There is no suspension and the smallish wheels won't get you far across a field in winter. I suspect it would fill your golf up with no space for anything else either.

Do you know of any that do the similar facing parent/height thing?

The Joolz Day has a high seat and certainly better back wheels but I'm not sure whether it's dog walking suitable... I would think not but some people on here have them so will be able to comment. I saw a Jane Trider in the street today, that actually looked quite high and might be okay for light off roading. For proper off roading you'll need something totally different... you may have to bite the bullet and get two.

I use a sling for dog walking and the stokke for pavements.

Sling AND stokke!! Good idea. Back to the stokke!! Although it doesn't seem to fold away that small!!

You're right that it doesn't fold that small, but it's a good pushchair depending on what you're looking for. I did a review of it here. Best get the tape measure out and see if it will fit in the golf

125cms folded is huge!!!! That wouldn't fit in my large-ish car boot!! Is it really that long??!

Try looking at the mima kobi / xari buggy. Not 100 % great for off road but possible, but if high up and great on pavement/ normal parks. We have used the double and was v easy.

Forgot to say the mima xari is now only available online ( I think), it used to be stocked by John Lewis but was only for a season I think.

Anyway have a look as I still think its great. It's designed by the creators of the bloom highchair/ cot/ bouncer range.
It folds fairly small, is light to push, and has great built in storage containers. The carrycot part is stored within main seat ( it kind of unzips and folds out then back in when finished), so you don't have to find space to store seat/ carrycot when not using one part.
It's also high up and forward/ and parent facing

Just looked it up again and appears one of he kardashians have just brought and everyone online is wondering where to get one now, so maybe uk stores will store again ( some stores may have them leftover I suppose)

The stokke takes up a LOT of boot space. You have to detach the seat from the chassis and unhook the bags. Because of the design of the chassis and seat it doesn't squash down. Ours fills about 70% of a family saloon boot and we shove other things around it. We hired a Ford Focus hatchback once though and as it had a higher boot it was easier to use.
Love ours to bits but still bought a McClaren to stash in the car once DD was old enough.
Perfect for paved surfaces - took mine running, but wouldn't push it across country unless the ground was nice and dry. The vast majority of prams don't have wheels big enough though imo. We used a sling/baby carrier for that.
Suspension is over-rated it often comes with tires that get punctures.

I loved the Kobi....sighs! That has the MOST beautiful chassis ever!!! The unfold was perfection and the push was fabulous. It was just a bit bulky to store. I want a Mima chassis with some slim City Select type seats on and for both seats to sit upright!

Well we might have a kobi for sale in a couple of months if anyone's interested. Has all the doubles kits.

I have a stokke and a VW Golf - it fits in easily but the chassis takes up the whole floor area of the boot and if you then put the toddler seat on top there is very little room for anything else apart from sliding bags down the gaps at the side and back. I love my Stokke - great for pavements and smooth surfaces but not a buggy for fields and off-road. We have just moved from London to the country and sadly the stokke no longer suits our needs. I am looking for an all-terrain pushchair now.
