Another do I need a double.

Recently found out pg. Dd is going to be 2.1 when the baby is due abd considering options. We currently have a britax b-smart and a bebecar style (i think is thr model). I am wondering if it would be possible for buggy board/sling one pram combo. I have the added bonus that both toddler and baby wouls be able to go in either pram with little hassle for change over.

Does anyone know if there are any buggy boards compatable with the bebecar (very new to all of this)

I would also love to have a phil and teds however I doubt we would be able to afford a new one, is second hand worthwhile? What if it were to break on me suddenly would certainly be stuck then.

I have also been looking at some cheaper tandems in the same style as the p+t, baby weavers lynx, hauck duett and the obaby xi tandem. Does anyone have any experience of these?

At only just 2, I'd say go for a double. Look out on Gumtree or Ebay for local pick up ones, they always go for much cheaper as the pool of people looking is smaller iyswim. I got out Phil and teds double for £100 from ebay, with the newborn cocoon, raincover and footmuff, and will probably be able to sell it on for more when we're done with it so it's definately worth it imo. My ds has just turned 4 and we still use it, which I've been very grateful of especially in the terrible rain, and when he's very recently been ill. Depends on your lifestyle a bit though I suppose. I don't drive so do everythign on foot. If all you're doing with a buggy is pushing it around shopping centres then you'd probably get away with a buggy board. Fwiw, I've never found a buggy board that I could comfortably lean over and push, and I'm 5 foot 7 so not short.

Congratulations. My ds1 and 2 were exactly 2 years apart and we never needed double. We had M&P pliko/Maclaren and Lascal buggy board maxi/sling, depending on the outing. But it depends on your way of life, really. We were in London with lots of walking and public transport, so this worked well for us. I'd really say wait and see what you're toddler's like by the time it's really an issue.

I have a 21 month gap and even now, 2 years later we still use a double now and again. I would say get one, because you will never regret it. Buy well - there are so many barely used doubles on Ebay - and you will get your money back at the end. Believe me there will be many times when you will be glad of being able to just strap a toddler in and go and not having to herd them up, keep them safe etc whilst you sort the baby out - especially in winter. There's no way I could get my toddler on a buggy board much before she was 3 plus buggy boards do give you drag behind your pushchair and however good, do affect how you walk. Its always a relief to come back to a double after using a buggy board.

Before you buy anything, do your homework. If your eldest still naps then a P&Ts wont suit for the first 6 months as there is no recline. The Hauck Duett is good but only really for children 6 months plus unless your eldest doesn't mind being reclined - and most toddlers do mind! I wouldn't touch the other two for reputation but also they have similar issues to the P&T's. A Britax B-Dual is a safe option and there are often bargains to be had. Its like a smart P&Ts but with better spacing between the seats and more options plus storage. A second hand Peach Blossom or Pear would probably see you through either. Or bite the bullet and buy a side by side eg a Baby Jogger City Mini or Easywalker Duo at a cheap price and sell it on later.

Congratulations. I'm in a similar boat, although my DD will be days off 2.7 at EDD so that little bit older. My issue is that it will be winter when #2 is due (mid-November) so after umm-ing and ahh-ing about it for a couple of months, this is my plan.

Keep my B-Smart 3 and get a Revelo Kid Seat buggy board (which they have emailed me to say IS compatible).

Buy a cheap double for when the weather is poor. I'm considering something v cheap, like a Graco Stadium Duo. There are quite a few compromises in this choice, as the baby isn't rear-facing, although the seat is suitable from birth, and I won't have a car seat to go on it. However, I think that for maybe 6mths inconsistent use, I can live with it. I may look into eBay/pre-loved doubles if I can get one for a similar price.. Good luck - don't rush into it though, you have time to decide & you may change your mind numerous times (I did!!).

Thanks everyone. I have changed my mind so many times alredy and we only found out a few weeks ago. Df likes abd auggested the buggy board idea im unsure i think dd will be too young, though I was able to get him to look at sone doubles the other day so some hope there.

I did think about side by sides but wondered weather I would use one for long enough really dd is already a good walker I know this is another wait and see though. Also worried about uneven weight balance makig it difficult to push. What ages have others used pushchairs up to?

I had a little look at a b-dual but it seems such a large pushchair I am a tiny 5ft1' so wlnder if I would struggle.

Trying to decide so soon as we will need to save up.

My friend is 27 weeks pregnant with twins a boy and girl she already has a 1 year old boy.

Could anyone help us to choose a pushchair? it needs to be suitable for newborns and a toddler. the t3 jogger is too big.

i have heard about a double +single that clip together has anyone else?

When she says big, does she mean wide or heavy. The T3 is heavy, but the Valco with reclining joey seat looks almost the same but is something weird like 10kgs lighter! The Valco fits through standard doors and looks just like the T3. But it would be an import or Ebay job.
I have a couple of friends in the same position. One has a Baby Jogger Elite double for walking locally (a City Mini or GT would do either). She puts one twin at the rear of the flat recline harnessed in, and then she sits her eldest on the seat pad in front. Her eldest was around 13 months when the babies were born. However this only worked when she was sure her eldest wouldn't sleep. She decided to buy an iCandy Peach Blossom and put a new Buggypod Io on - dont even think about the previous buggypod because it has terrible reviews. The Io looked really sturdy and could go on most tandem pushchairs. It does increase the width though quite a lot, and a double may be preferable. There are some sit down buggy boards but again, it depends if the eldest naps.
There is also the Peg Perego Triplette that can be brought over here from Europe or there are ABC Adventure buggies on Ebay with static and reclining toddler seats - you can have the eldest on top, or the two babies on top. But the Adventure buggies are a REAL BEAST and really need leaving up at home. Fab for walking with but horrible to put in the car (if it fits!).
Its a tough one though, and there really is no easy answer. One other friend decided she was never leaving home alone - she had a smaller age gap - and she always goes out with her mum or dad to help.

Hi sorry to resurrect an old thread, but could anyone tell me the weight of the valco? I believe the T3 and ABC are too heavy to be putting in and out of the car? Thanks.

this says 33lbs which is 15kgs. The T3 is 24kgs. Plus both have extra weights for the toddler seats.
