Against my better judgement am considering short haul flight on my own with 8month old plus 3.2 year old. Need a stroller which could be collapsed easily at security. We have a Jane energy which has been used and abused. The back can no longer recline - would like something the baby could sleep comfortably in. Also the energy wasn't that easy to collapse one handed with cosy toes on as it didn't clip shut properly, maybe this is unavoidable. Budget not really an issue, within reason!

I used to have a maclaren (can't remember which model) but I bought it as I could fold it with one hand, the frame was light, and the chair could be reclined for naps. Worth a look?

The three I would recommend are the Baby Jogger City Mini, the Britax B-Agile (but its a two handed open), and the Maxi Cosi Noa. The City Mini doesn't autolock but the new GT (and I think the new City Mini 2012) will have an autolock - but an autolock would then almost certainly make it a two handed open.
The Noa is a genuine one handed fold and one handed open. Its a perfect travelling pushchair. Has a recent recline. Its not a hugely sturdy pushchair - ie I wouldn't want to walk off road all day with it but we have taken ours on holidays along pavements from dawn until dark and its been fab. It freestands too in a nice neat little cuboid too.

The Baby jogger city mini, have travelled extensivley with 18m and 3 yr old with mine and it is fab. Even the 3 year old sleeps comfortably in it as it is a full recline and roomy to turn for him. True onehanded fold and weighs nothing. Shopping basket decent size and the backrest has a net pocket for all the essentials. the Hood is HUGE so no additional suncover needed. I have never had a raincover either as the hood has so far kept them dry! I have both the single and double city mini and cant praise them enough!!!

Many thanks for replies, will take a look at the Noa and baby Jogger City Mini, they both sound ideal. That said, have always felt I 'should' own a Maclaren at some point <child of the seventies> but would probably need to see them and try folding before buying. Now hoping the snow doesn't interfere with impulsively made travel plans...

Oh, and do you think one of these would be a justified purchase when we already have 1) a vibe which allowed me to get out walking thus keeping me sane over the summer, 3.2 yr old still goes in the back occasionally 2) silver cross sleepover, my original choice when DD1 born, still going strong with DD2 facing me when DD1 at nursery (love this pram) and 3)the above mentioned broken jane energy...or should I join some kind of buggy addict support group

LOL I have both the City Mini and Noa, plus a house full of other pushchairs, so I am not the one to ask as I would say both!!
The City Mini is a more sturdy pushchair - I would use it for spending hours around the shops. The handle is quite high. Its got more storage.
The Noa is more of a stroller - lightweight. Occasional use whether it is several days on holiday and then gets put in the boot of the car to nip into places with and then taken again on holiday. You can fit a fair bit into the basket but nothing heavy. But it can take the weight of bags on the handlebars and doesn't tip when the child gets out. The handle is lower.
I use mine for the purposes above - but the stroller v's pushchair distinction is important. I much prefer the Noa to nip in and out of shops, nursery etc with, but if I had a nursery run to do where I walked, it would the City Mini (or An Other) that came for that!
Do these help at all? You can clearly see the size / sturdyness difference (not that the Noa is flimsy at all - just a different class!)
This might help or hinder too.

Well I bought the Britax B-agile today! Although the opening initially requires two hands, I think I'll be able to manage that bit with baby tucked under my arm <crosses fingers and toes>. After that it seems a very slick fold-down. Also has a lovely neat turning circle and I think the one handed steer will be advantageous when trying to corral DD1. Plus they gave me £20 off as only had floor model left so a bit of a bargain which is always nice.
Don't think I would have been able to see the Noa before purchasing <live in the sticks> and am running a bit short of time for returns/dealing with delivery drivers. The City Mini Jogger looks great too but prob more of a 'main pram'.
Am very pleased! Thanks everyone

I am glad you are sorted
Its a great pushchair. Enjoy
Just to add for future readers there is barely any difference between the BJCM and the B-Agile in size, function and everything else. They are difficult to choose between to be honest.
