Pushchairs

A couple of Mountain Buggy questions...

  1. Does it stand upright when folded? I'm pushed for storage space.

  2. When folding does the handle or the basket touch the ground? Ugh! A pet hate.

  3. Do any of them have that built in flip out sun visor thing? I live on the coast so parasols are a nightmare with the wind!

  4. Is there a big difference in seat size between the Swift and the Urban? DD is 98th centile for weight and 91st for length and I want this to be my last pushchair!

  5. Assuming the Swift is big enough for porky long children, is it ok for on the beach?

OK, that was more than a couple of questions... Grin

1 - sort of, but it means resting it on the handlebar
2 - yes see above
3 - no, you can buy a sunshade cover that zips on
4 - swift is smaller, wheels are def smaller
5 - yes it's fine for beach

Ok I will have a go but I don't own a MB and will stand corrected but I was chatting to MB PR this morning so know all MB are freestanding. But I assume from what I know of the fold that it uses the handle to support it when standing. When folding you fold from under the footplate so I guess the basket may well sag on the ground but then again with a bit of luck it probably just slides between the wheels. It is a flat fold ie they slide flat to the floor so the handlebar doesn't touch the floor. It stays at the highest point of the food (apart from maybe the bumper bar if the Swift and UJ have one.) I believe the Duo has a flip out visor so would be surprised if the UJ doesn't too. But I am sure a quick Google / look at the MB website can answer that one.? I want to get a Swift and my tall 2.5 year old had tons of room but we were told the UJ would be better for the beach because of the bigger tyres and I am inclined to agree. I felt like both seats were a similar size. Both are supposed to hold a child up to the age of 5 and a huge 35kg! It's definitely a pushchair for a child to grow into!

Thanks ladies! It's tricky to find seat dimensions online, glad to see you've seen both in the flesh Guildfordnanny. There are no stockists where I am, so I'm likely to end up buying unseen, eek!

Eldon, do you mean the suncover that goes over the whole thing, like a raincover?
