Where to buy from ?

Seeing as how Mothercare, John Lewis etc all offer price-matching, is there anywhere spectacularly good to buy from (ie in terms of aftercare if probs develop) to differentiate one store from another ?

kiddicare are fantastic.

Delivery wise, we ordered our buggy from them at about 4pm and had it at 12pm the next day. The buggy was perfect so we have never had to deal with that aspect. I did order our baby gates through them though and stupidly stuffed up the measurements and they were great about taking them back and replacing them with the correct size.

mothercare customer service is appalling in my experience. They cannot wait to get the cash of you but if you have a problem then suddenly it is all too much trouble.

Local pram stores are good if you have one.

If not www.preciouslittleone.com are good.

I would never buy from Kiddicare, unless it was something you didn't need any time soon.

I ordered my pushchair from them, they said it was in stock. They gave me a delivery slot and I waited in for it, taking a half day off work. It never arrived, a week later they admitted they hadn't had it in stock and that they still didn't.

They gave me 3 subsequent delivery dates, telling me they had some in stock, it never arrived, I had to wait in each time. Each time I complained I found it was because they had sent them out to people who had ordered more recently and were now out of stock again, I'd have to wait for the next shipment to arrive at their depot.

I ended up cancelling my order with them about 6 weeks later when it became clear that they were never going to deliver it.

TBH it wasn't the total lack of a pushchair that pissed me off, it was their awful customer service. They were not polite, not sympathetic, didn't understand why I couldn't wait in for the 5th planned delivery (with still no pushchair).

Kiddicare are great if you order and it arrives. If anything goes wrong though, they are shit.

Kiddiecare never impressed me with their service much either.

TBH, if you can get John Lewis to price match, they are far and away the best. I ended up getting latest pushchair from Mothercare, because they had a great offer AND I joined the Mum and Baby club (free to join), which gives you a £20 voucher off any pushchair over £250 - JL couldn't price match that voucher, so Mothercare got the edge.

Boots.com are fab if something goes wrong, my maclaren triumph broke 3 weeks before the warrenty expired and 24 hrs later they had picked it up from my garage, refunded me (i didn't want a replacement) and not even asked what bit had broken!
would buy from them everytime if it was based on customer service and aftercare

I returned a highchair to boots.com - I phoned to arrange collection - but was told to take it to the PO and drop it off (so I had to wait til the weekend for use of the car to do that) - it took more than 4 weeks to get a refund as apparently the PO "lost" the item - and then I had to find and send a copy of my receipt from posting in order to get my refund - eventually!!!
Thank goodness I'd kept the posting receipt safe otherwise I would not have got my money back at all - what a rubbish returns system!!!

bought the wrong push chair yesterday and am now trying to cancel my order with Kiddicare. They haven't dispatched it yet (which is good), but it is very confusing to find their contact details online. There is a phone number (0871781700) which is very expensive to call, and the email address: [email protected] where the reply states that they will respond in 48 hours.

It's frustrating that they don't have a change your mind option like amazon does. I didn't check their reviews on mumsnet as have only just joined.

I really hope I get my money back ok (and stop them from sending me a push chair I don't want, which I have learnt I will have to pay the return postage on!).

What I have learnt from this is to make sure I'm 100% certain of the purchase before I submit any payment details next time (and go through a supplier I know and trust).

I placed an order incorrectly 2 nights ago and have been emailing [email protected] with no response. I have also called the customer help line 0871781700 repeatedly this morning and the line is down/not responding.

There seems to be no way to cancel an order once placed, EVEN THOUGH it is clear that it has not been placed or dispatched.

I think this is very bad customer service.

All I want to do is cancel my order and place a new one, but the fact that the Kiddicare system won't get in contact with me is making me feel like I don't trust the site or company.

Still not sure if I will get my money back...

Hope this is helpful.
