Taking Bee Plus on a plane..

Hi, we're going to France this summer and I so want to take my lovely Bee Plus away but I'm concerned it won't be treated with the love and respect it should on a plane. has anybody taken theirs away and have you any tips? Also, can you keep it with you until just before you board or do you have to check it in with your luggage?? We've only driven before....Thx
