Baby Jogger City Elite Double

Hi All

Just wondered if anyone else has got a Baby Jogger City Elite Double (or even seen one), I was planning on getting one for my twins due in May because of all the excellent reviews but a few mentioned the weight of it which worries my wife a little. The other concern was the size of it, will it fit in the boot of a Ford Mondeo?

Thanks in advance
Gary

Have has a good look at one in our local pram centre. Very nice, cosy, comfy looking pram, very sturdy, felt easy to push (mind you that was sans children), but my god that is one big mother hubbard of a pram. There is no way that I would be able to lift it into the boot of our car on my own, and I'm not a slight or short woman! It is very heavy. No idea about whether it would fit in a mondeo, it looked like it would fit into our vectra no bother, although wouldn't imagine you'd fit much else in.
Overall was just to big for me to manage on my own so we'll probs go for the city mini instead.

Hi Gary, I have the Baby Jogger City Elite double.

It is an excellent pushchair, very comfy for the LO's, and has lots of excellent features so it really does deserve its great reviews.

It is heavy though! The fold is fab, pull the two seat handles and it collapses in half but then you have the job of lifting it into the car.

Fold wise it is quite bulky when folded with the wheels on, however, if you remove all four wheels (very easy to do as they click on/off via a button) then it folds very compact - infact when stored indoors without the wheels on I can store it behind my sofa!

I drive a people carrier with all 8 seats in use so a very limited boot space and I have to remove the wheels every time I fold it to fit it in the boot. I bought a baby jogger wheel bag to store the wheels in and it takes a couple of seconds to remove/replace them but I'm happy to do this as my twins and I love this pushchair so much.

I would advise you to try and get to a shop that has one in stock (see Baby Jogger website for a list of stockists in your area) or else see if you can order online with the option of looking at it (obv not using it) and then sending it back if it doesn't suit your needs.

If you send me your email I'd be happy to send you some pics of it folded with/without wheels so you can get a rough ideal of size.

Hope that helps.
