We've got a sport as a single pushchair. DC2 is due in May so am planning to buy a doubles seat and double raincover. However, yesterday I saw one of these pushchairs set up with a newborn and toddler. The toddler looks very high up. Does the raincover still fit on? And at what age can the baby go in the main seat in recline mode?

thanks

yes,the raincover still fits.
the baby should be in the main seat compleately reclined until they are about 6 months, and then move into the bottom seat whilst the heavier toddler goes up top in the main seat, does that make sense?Grin

my toddler didn't fit in the top seat with the rain cover on at 2.4 yo and although on the tall side for her age she wasn't huge

hmmmm DD is quite tall. Perhaps I will go and try her in one in a shop. Mind you, we can't really afford a new double pushchair. Hopefully being the summer I won't need tha raincover much!!

IME it'll be very rare, especially with your due date, that you have to get out the raincover, and rare enough that you can manage with having the baby in the bottom section and the toddler in the main section, just in the first six months.

Obviously for the first six months normal procedure should be to have the baby reclined and the toddler on top high up, but I doubt the raincover would go over the toddler in that case.

But its very soon that they can swap about between either of the doubles seats, and I wouldnt think you needed to consider buying another stroller. What could you get that's better than the P&T, anyway?

I was thinking that by about 3-4 months the baby might be able to go in the main seat for short journeys. Or perhaps if it rains I could bribe DD to walk? Chocolate buttons probably cheaper than a new pushchair.....

my ds is 4 months and doest look very comfy in the top or bottom seat unless it is to far reclined for there to be anothr child in the bottom seat.also my dd no longer fits in the bottom seat, she is 2.5 and quite tall though,im selling mine and ive just bought the britax b dual-its amazing...

my 4yo goes in the doubles seat (if weather is rubbish or we r on holiday) and she stil fits in it.
i would buy the doubles seat and try it out,if its no good, you could get a good price to sell yours and buy a suitable double.

Just thought of something else - can I use the single raincover I've already got when the toddler seat is up the top?
Then if she really doesn't want it on, she can get wet while the baby is nice and dry underneath Wink
