Mountain Buggy Duo or Easy Walker Duo

Does anyone have any experience of comparing these? The EW is a bit cheaper and takes a maxi cosi car seat.

I have a baby due in Jan when DS will be 17 mths (and not probably not quite walking) and a 16kg 5 yr old (who can be lazy so would like to perch on the front or buggy board at least).

We have 10 steps up to the house so need something that can cope with being bumped around. Also we dont live in the UK and have cold winters/snow so need the big tyres etc.

Have heard rumours that the EW not as robust as the MB but not sure I believe the shop assistant who wanted us to buy the MB. Does the 2010 MB model compare with EW in terms of robustness. (I need the 2 better hoods on the 2010 model)

Thanks!

i have had both but my Mb is a 2009 version. they are both great buggies and i have had buggyboards on both, kiddyboards and easy to fit and go cheap on e-bay. i have had two children on the front footplate of my mountain buggy.
the quality is similar beween the old MB and the easywalker so you might find that the easywalker is now better quality than the 2010 china made MB.
the reason i sold the easywalker is that it was 76cm ish wide and only slightly to wide for my door. few things i can say comparing the two.
*on the easywalker there are fantastic pockets on the back of the seats

  • the Mb has a better handle than the EW which is a a fiddle to adjust and just doesnt feel as nice, when down its more of an effort to get up kerbs (and on a train carrage which was very difficult)
  • the mb folds flatter but is a longer fold as it folds further down the frame so its better for people with 7 seater cars and a thin gap behind the back seats. the EW folds towards the middle so its fatter when folded but not so long so better for more compact (in height ans width) boots.
  • the are both smooth to push and great off-road even with two buggyboards on.
*both have good storage the EW has a smaller basket but has the storage behind the seats (which is big).
*the MB has great beaker pockets and storage pockets in the basket
*the EW seats sits more upright because it has clips on the top of the seats.

if i had the choice between the 2010 MB and EW i would probably go for the EW, i am a massive fan of MB but i am not convinced with the quality of the china made ones, its too much like phil and ted quality and they charge too much money for the quality. the old MBs where so well made. if the choice was a 2009 MB and an EW it would be the 2009 MB without a doubt. i use mine alot and i have had it almost 2 years and i bought it secondhand, its still almost like new. its a workhorse, i have my 6 and 4year olds on the back and my twins in the seats, used at least twice a day for the school run then shopping and weekends off-road and is a dream to push on the beach and in the woods.

Thanks Mel for your v helpful comments.

Anyone able to help comparing the 2010 MB with EW??

We dont live in the UK, although its much cheaper to buy it in the UK and ship so we might have a problem with mending it/guarantee if it broke.

Thanks
