HELP My head is beginning to explode!!!

I am trying to decide on which pushchair or buggy to get, and need to get my head straight re what I need, and even when I need to get it. I have looked at so much on e-bay, internet, MN reviews, that I can't see the wood for the trees Confused so I need someone sensible down to earth advice. I do not have an unlimited budget (who does?) so want to get something which will last me as long as possible, both with regard to quality, as well as size.

My DD is currently 4 months, and weighing 13lbs, so roughly on the 25 centile. I am using an iCandy cherry old style, travel system, with a Maxi Cosi cabriofix carseat. This was borrowed from my sister, so hasn't cost me any money Grin. I use the carseat on the chassis all the time - I live in a semi-rural location and drive most places.
The carry-cot is getting a bit snug, and the pushchair seat is broken - will not stay in the upright position.

Technically, my DD should be able to stay in the carseat until she is 1 yr old, so I could carry on as I am until then, but is this really feasible? I suppose the longer I leave it, I am more likely to be able to get away with something more like a stroller.
Have been flirting with the quinny buzz on e-bay, but the more I hear, the more I am getting turned off, especially if you need to take the seat off to fold it.

So, any advice gratefully recieved. Thanks!!!

Get a baby jogger city mini - you will love the easy fold - and they're fab quality. They don't take up much boot space and are really comfy for both the pushchair pusher and the child.
Then kit it out with one of the lovely new buggy snuggles New design buggy snuggles here to make it weather proof. The hood is really large - so if you choose one of the waterproof buggy snuggles you won't need a raincover (nor the inconvenience of carrying one just incase!). The latest buggy snuggles can open at the foot end (when your baby has long legs and mucky boots) so it won't be outgrown.
Both these options are good quality and can be sold for a good price once you are done using them. The pushchair will set you back around £180 (see //www.boots.com) and the buggy snuggle around £45.
I would not try to keep your child in the car seat until 1y old (on the pram frame) personally. It will become quite uncomfortable for you to lift with her in it before then. Babies grow and incredible amound in the latter 6 months of their 1st year of life!
Best wishes with your new buggy quest. Grin

sorry that should read "babies grow an incredible amount" ...lots of typo's thereBlush
ps when selling the items after use - provided they're still in relatively good condition you would expect to recoup at least £100 for the buggy and probably £25 - 30ish on the buggy snuggle.

How old is the icandy? They had a fault which caused some of the seats to flip back/not stay up which they fixed on ours for free a while back, not answering your question but might save some cash!

Not sure exactly how old the icandy is - possibly 6 years +

Monkey - yes, have seen the BJCM, and like it alot. Was hoping to spend slightly less, but sell on option is a very good point. Thank-you!

A lot of people I know bought something not quite so expensive - but ended up taking it to the tip once they'd finished with it (as they were ruined due to not being such good quality or just unsalable due to not being very desirable brands/makes in the first place).
Personally I prefer to use something of great quality - and know I can recoup a good amount of money after use - it makes more sense to me to use something nicer and enjoy it - and overall loose less money at the end of the day by having something with a decent resale value. Wink

PS - you might even be able to BUY your BJCM and Buggy Snuggle 2nd hand off eBay - have you looked? Smile

Have looked, but I think that anyone with a BJCM is hanging on to it rather than selling it - perhaps that is why there are so many quinny's on ebay :)
But I think I can hang on for a while, at least until DD is still ok to lift in the car seat.

you don't need to take the seat off to fold the qunniy if it is in the forward facing most upright position.

I have a love hate relationship with mine. But love fact its parent facing!

I would say I'd swap you my quinny for your icandy cept I saw your pushchair seat is broken- if it was fixed would be happy for a swap trial- I want to keep DD parent facing as long as poss so looking at icandy or bugaboo.

Pushchairs are a minefield aren't they!

You really wouldn't want my icandy - the handle bar is wonky, and it is really difficult to steer. I'm glad I didn't spend money on it!
