Pushchairs

Mothercare have a fab pushchair with toddler seat and step attached. Does anywhere else do one?

Pregnant with DC2 which is due just after DS's 3rd birthday. No point in buying a double buggy and buggy boards look like a pain as they stick out really far, plus I can't see DS staying on it.

Mothercare have got a new pram which has a built in seat and standing board behind the pram bit, but the pram bit is for babies over 6 months Hmm unless you attach a car seat, which has to be a specific maxi cosi one (which I don't have and I don't want to pay out for when I have a perfectly good car seat) or they say another car seat which is a group 2-3 one. That makes no sense. Why would you attach a group 2-3 car seat to a pushchair? Baby would be big enough to go in the pushchair then anyway.

Does anyone know of any other pushchairs like this that are for new borns with a toddler bit built on?

Ok, just been on the website and made the link. Says will fit most car seats. But would still like to know if there are any others out there like this.

That's ideal for you! Seen good reviews on that elsewhere too.

I had a Mia Moda Campagno/Compagno Which is along the same lines, and it came with an adaptor that you clicked on where the play tray is and you could attach any car seat onto it. You were abe to do this as it had a little strap you used to fasten the car seat on so it wouldn't fall off, rather than having to click it onto anything.

I only had this pram for a month or so and it was quite heavy to push and hard to manouver as the weight was in the front with the car seat being on. Saying that, it was very handy for DS2 to jump on and off and easier than a buggy board as I didn't have to stretch my arms.

I would not buy a pram where the baby is stuck in their car seat for the first 6 months. I didn't think it was recommended for young babies to spend too long in that position.

Depending on how far you walk every day I'm not sure that your son will need to be in the pram. Surely by that age he would be walking. Alternatively you could buy him a scooter which allows him to travel longer distances

Sorry nulgirl but that wasn't what I asked. Hmm

The baby will not be in a car seat for that long as I don't walk great distances due to having M.E. I know my toddler well, he will not ride a scooter nicely beside me, he will run off. Hence me looking at products like this.

Link in OP wouldn't work for me, but what about one of those clip on side chairs?

This is the Mia Moda pram I mentioned earlier.

Wow! What a great invention. Never seen that before. Definitely more research is required.

The Caboose isn't compatible with my car seat and it seems to be a bit heavy. Having M.E. I need something as light as possible. I have a Maclaren Quest at the moment and its soooo light!

Well if you're looking at other options, there is also the Strolli rider. I had one for both DS1 and DS2 respectively and they are great.

I got a joovy off ebay for £50 about 3 years ago-was great and fitted a carseat on it. I used to get 3 kids on it most of the time. You could see if there's any of those about-so light.
I gave mine to a mnetter who seemed pleased.

Thanks 5inthebed that looks really good too. I can see DS liking that a lot! Loads of stuff to look into that I never knew existed!

sorry - that seems to be the buggy you're talking about in the first place. I can't believe they're so expensive-I boughtmine off an American and I don't think they cost so much over there!

Yes that is the one I meant. I found the name after I wrote this post. I looked on ebay.

Unfortunately it isn't compatible with my car seat and I am not buying another one and while the reviews are very good, some people seem to say it is a bit heavy which would be a problem for me. Sad

I saw one of these the other day and was talking to its owner about it. Could be a good solution for you.

Also there is a thread on here about it recently....will try and find it.

Thanks for the link.

Me and DH have decided its probably not worth getting anything as I don't go out enough with the pushchair as it is. Its all in the car and out again unless we are nipping in a shop. I am already struggling to push DS on his own in a very lightweight buggy so I can't imagine I will manage with a toddler that is 6 months older, a heavier pushchair and a baby in a car seat.

Did think about a sling or baby carrier but it kills my back and shoulders after about 10 minutes. Sad
