Hi!

We have a 4 wk old DD and are looking for a lightweight, compact-when-folded pushchair for her. We have a M&P travel system that is a few years old (from friends) but it is just too big to store in our little cottage, is heavy and takes 2 hands and a few mins to fold. As such I barely use it and end up using the sling, I certainly wouldn't take it on the bus etc.

As such I want to buy another, with the following criteria:

  • Lightweight
  • Folds smallish
  • Easy to fold
  • Easy to manouevre
  • Ideally can be made rear facing...don't know how many do this though?
  • Lies flat as DD is still little
  • Not more than £150 max!

I have seen the Bugaboo Bee but that is way out of our budget (as much as I like it), the Zapp but this is 6 months plus and I don't think can be rear facing? I'm not fussed about car seats going on the frame etc, if it does (we have a Maxi Cosi) then great, but it isn't something that I'm seeking out.

Any help, sites or recommendations or anything would be really appreciated!

have you thought about a second hand bugaboo frog or gecko? they are truly fab for new babies (and older ones) push like a dream, lie flat carrycot, only weight 9kg with the wheels and seat/carrycot attached, and you can pick up a nice frog for about this sort of money on preloved/ebay. Is also compatible with maxi cosi.
They arent a one piece fold, but to be honest, the only one I can think of which is rear facing and folds in one piece is the bee/bee plus. The folding is easy once you get the hang of it. I could fold mine and have the back wheels off in about 40 seconds.
They fold pretty small and the carrycot is flat once off the frame. Wheels pop off easily enough to make it even smaller. I've had a cameleon (slightly bigger than frog) in the boot of a ford Ka and still had room for shopping.
