Someone help me with my Quinny Buzz before I get the scissors out!!!

HELLLLPPP!

A friend has very kindly given me her old Quinny Buzz and whilst it is in really good nick I am trying to get the covers off to wash them... Have managed to get everything but the canopy thing off. I can't see how it comes off, I have undone the press studs at both side but then it is just left sliding along the two bars that hold it up. I can't see how to get it off these, there is no velcro/zips/poppers and I can't see how these bars detach from the frame... they do unclip from the frame but are still joined with a hingey thing at each end.

I am only 32 weeks, but into full nesting mode and feel like if I don't get this washed today my life will be over!!

Are scissors really the only option??

Quinny have their instruction manual on their website. This is C&P from it.

6.2 Cleaning the Quinny Buzz seats
(comfort cushion and XL seat)

  1. Open safety harness (Fig. 44).
  2. Unfasten the shoulder belt snap and hook and remove the belt pad.
  3. Loosen all snaps on the bottom of the seat (Fig. 45).
  4. Loosen the Velcro straps on the bottom of the seat. Remove the belt buckle

through the opening of the seat (Fig. 46).
  1. Slide the cord of the seats out of the edges of the Quinny Buzz seat. Start with the

foot section and work towards the head section (Fig. 47).
  1. Pull the lap belt of the Quinny Buzz seat through the holes of the seats and

remove the loops from the shoulder belts from the openings of the seat (Fig. 48).
Both the comfort cushion and the XL seat must be washed by hand (maximum 30º).
Do not use a drier. Also see washing instructions.
During washing the seats may become somewhat deformed. You can push the seats
back into their original shape.
The replacement of the comfort cushion is accomplished in the reverse order.

Oh sorry, misread it.

If you pop the hood in a pillowcase and wash it on a delicate wash it should be fine. I'v washed many hoods this way an it has never failed.

if there are plastic things clipping it onto the frame, it just twists off like a parasol clip thingy. Cant remember for the old buzz though.

I can get the whole canopy contraption off the frame but not the material part off the canopy frame itself so I can put it in the wash iyswim.

I think I might give up... its not all that dirty and I'm sure I could sponge wash it, I'm just being a bit PFB probably and wanting to wash everything I hve thats second hand (which is almost everything) as thoroughly as I can.

stick it in the bath with some persil and scrub it. Then rinse with shower head and stick it in the airing cupboard to dry. if you only wet parts of it, you will end up with water marks.
I do this a lot as I clean pushchairs up and sell them on, I have found this to be the least risky and most effective method.

If you still haven't solved your little problem, try giving the customer care a ring, they are good at solving things like this...the number is 01842 763281.
Hope it all works out for you.

I had an old style buzz (the one with the flower by the logo) and the fabric of that did not come off the hood frame. I used to wash it in the bath.

I am very very proud of myself for getting the seat off, washed and back on all on my very ownsome without even needing MN help!!! Grin

Just got to attempt to get the maxicosi set cover back on next Confused
