buggy advice please!

My DS2 is 3 months old and I am using the jane carrera with matrix car seat I bought when DD was born 7 years ago.

In the meantime we have used 2 different maclaren triumphs - still have both, one in really terrible condition as was bought for DD used only now for holidays as don't care what happens to it, the other is in pretty good condition. Also had a double maclaren buggy when DD and DS1 were little but this is long gone - DS1 is 4 so do not want him to have option of double buggy.

The jane carrera buggy has served us well - seat lies right back, can have baby facing you if use the matrix, can use car seat for longer periods of time as it goes flat, buggy folds small enough to fit behind rear seats on zafira. Do not regret purchase at all. ALso its very comfortable to push with buggy board unlike maclaren triumph.

But am toying with idea of buying an isofix rear facing car seat (these were not available 7 years ago) and am a little freaking of no longer having a travel system which I find useful eg if baby falls asleep in car. The matrix now comes with isofix but i have a very old one and i am not completely convinced how secure it is (although DH points out that it was approved as being safe 7 years ago and as its an infant car seat has only had 2 years of use.

In some ways money is no object but I hate spending unnecessary money.... am considering maclaren xrt with car seat and base - but I am only 5 4 and have read its not great if you are short. Also suspect buggy its not any lighter or smaller than my jane carrera.

Or should I just make do with what i have and DS2 can use the maclaren triumph from around 6 months.

also wanted to say with matrix we have that when used upright baby's head falls forward. with DD and DS1 we used it flat for 6 months but as the weather has been so hot neither DD nor DS1 want to sit in rear zafira seats far from aircon which means have to use car seat upright so can fit 3 kids in middle row of car.
