I need six large cushions for 2 sofas, maybe 8 smaller ones, but oh my word the prices!!!shock

Excitedforxmas Wed 26-Mar-14 12:54:17

B&M have some lovely ones x

FlatsInDagenham Wed 26-Mar-14 12:55:57

I second B&M. Also Primark do homeware.

IDugUpADiamond Wed 26-Mar-14 12:58:11

Thing is, I don't want cheap cushions, I want expensive lush long lasting cushions, without the price tag blush

Cocolepew Wed 26-Mar-14 12:59:39

Home Bargains do largish feather filled ones for £4.

spotty26 Wed 26-Mar-14 13:40:38

I got some lovely bolsters from Homebase. Pale grey herringbone with buttons £7 each I think.

Make some? It isn't difficult and (depending on size), you can make 3-4 covers from 1m of furnishing fabric.

Tkmaxx - very fancy ones for 12-20 quid, look like 50 quid ones

juneybean Wed 26-Mar-14 14:00:06

Matalan, I bought the most comfy snuggly cushions from there, a good size too

Longdistance Wed 26-Mar-14 14:03:43

B&M vote here too.

Was there today, and some were on offer for 2 for £8.

Lagoonablue Wed 26-Mar-14 14:54:06

Dunelm mill. They do online if you are not near.

Lonecatwithkitten Wed 26-Mar-14 15:09:16

Buy cushion pads and then make a variety of cushions yourself in lovely materials they will be fraction of the cost of ready made versions.

ClownsLeftJokersRight Wed 26-Mar-14 15:12:33

I was going to suggest Dunelm too. But if possible try to stretch to feather filled inners. Anything else goes lumpy and misshapen sooner or later I find.

ClownsLeftJokersRight Wed 26-Mar-14 15:13:18

Ikea also good btwsmile

Dwinhofficoffi Wed 26-Mar-14 15:17:49

The range do good ones too.

Fluffycloudland77 Wed 26-Mar-14 15:22:34

Tk maxx. They look suspiciously like the John Lewis ones.

House of fraser do an eBay shop, they do homeware.

IDugUpADiamond Wed 26-Mar-14 15:58:09

Thank you everyone, I am checking your suggestions. I have noticed that House of Fraser's outlet shop on ebay doesn't have anything that the actual online shop doesn't also have, plus some cushions are more expensive in their outlet store. For example the Living By Christiane Lemieux Slate Oversized Chevron Print Cushion is £50 on the ebay outlet store, but reduced to £35 in the normal H of F. Go figure!

Get some nice feather inners from Dunelm and get someone to make some covers for you. I bought 4 meters of fabric and got 7 16x16'S and 6 17x13's out of it with piping. A friend mum ran them up for me for £5 each.

Can I have her number please Have? grin

Georgiesgirl Thu 27-Mar-14 19:44:58

I've bought off eBay a couple of times. Got some gorgeous Osborne & Little fabric covers a few years ago and bluebellgray fabric ones recently. Workmanship was great both times (different sellers).

GemmaTeller Thu 27-Mar-14 19:51:42

Dunelm or Ikea

Fluffycloudland77 Thu 27-Mar-14 19:53:43

My mum used to make cushions. It's probably fairly easy but a lost skill.

whereisshe Thu 27-Mar-14 19:57:57

The cushion pads from ikea are good and wear well, and lots of people sell quite cheap handmade cushion covers on etsy and eBay, eg Laura Ashley fabrics.

IKnowAMouse Thu 27-Mar-14 20:03:55

I wait until the lovely feather filled ones are reduced in the John Lewis sale

Parietal Thu 27-Mar-14 20:34:51

i got some lovely fabric. found advert in fabric shop for lady who makes cushions (£10 per cushion). got fillers from IKEA for £4 each. cheap & lovely cushions.

Pannacotta Thu 27-Mar-14 22:15:51

SilverSixpence Fri 28-Mar-14 15:36:19

There are some UK based etsy sellers doing v nice cushions.

anitamartin Wed 04-Jun-14 12:07:52

IDugUpADiamond, can you tell us where you decided to get your cushion from?

MrsFlorrick Wed 04-Jun-14 14:48:00

Ikea can be great! I've for silk cushion covers for £5 many times.

Amethyst24 Wed 04-Jun-14 16:18:34

BHS have nice ones.

EagleRay Wed 04-Jun-14 19:41:19

Here are the cushions on my massive, neutral-coloured sofa:

Blue velvet one is from H&M Home - no longer in stock (a pity as it was as cheap as chips) but plenty of other nice ones in current range

Multicoloured one from John Lewis - was more pricey but links the colours in the other cushions really well

Green one was from Habitat - it's the Regency one and they still sell it, but not sure if they've got it in that colour. I bought mine when they were on offer at £15.

There's also some gorgeous ones as www.furnish.co.uk - some pricey, some cheaper

littlegreengloworm Wed 04-Jun-14 19:42:54

Mine are feather filled from TK maxx, love them

EagerBeaver101 Wed 04-Jun-14 19:49:13

BikeRunSki Wed 04-Jun-14 19:53:13

Laura Ashley Home gave 30-50% off at the mo. Off everything I think!

Eminybob Wed 04-Jun-14 19:55:02

Try pound stretcher

MarianForrester Wed 04-Jun-14 19:59:44

Tk Maxx; stalk it til you find some...I have some lovely feather ones.

Also Dunelm, Matalan, and B&M if you are careful in your search.

Or buy feather pads and buy/make covers you like?

kinkymouse Wed 04-Jun-14 20:48:44

Another tk maxx fan. Great quality feather filled I'm just looking for a few more and there are some lovely ones I at the moment.

mrsmopps Wed 04-Jun-14 20:53:22

Is it cushions with covers or without.
dunelm mill do cushions without covers quite cheap. I got large ones for my sofa (65x65cm) for around £7 each.

Have had cushions with covers from b and m before but thought the quality was quite poor.

Pannacotta Wed 04-Jun-14 21:07:56

Lovely cushions Eagle...
