Celebrity property porn. A certain Ulrikakkakaka is selling her house and it is soooo beautiful. if I had a spare 3 million quid, I'd snap it up! grin

MarilynMoanroe Fri 05-Jul-13 20:41:34

Me too! What a lovely house.

mrspaddy Fri 05-Jul-13 20:45:44

OOhh.. very swanky.. but I still prefer my own little pad.. can't swing a cat but has all I need.

Hassled Fri 05-Jul-13 20:47:08

That is lovely. She has gone a bit mental with the tomatoes and the avocados, though.

LynetteScavo Fri 05-Jul-13 20:50:11

Really? Loads of really small things about that house annoy me.

PaleHousewifeOfCumbriaCounty Fri 05-Jul-13 20:52:22

I showed DH and he said, ' oh i see ulrika lives on COX lane. Theres a surprise'

Lolz!

Talkinpeace Fri 05-Jul-13 21:05:16

nope, sorry, nothing there in the spaces grabs me at all and the furniture clearly belongs to the stylist
nice plot
pull down and start again

Karbea Fri 05-Jul-13 21:09:21

What does she do with all of those tomatoes?!?!?

Talkinpeace Fri 05-Jul-13 21:12:51

the stylist brings them and the stylist takes them away

I grew up in a magazine house
I'd have quite like some of the toys the stylists brought

Herhonesty Fri 05-Jul-13 21:14:26

Nope not for me

Branleuse Fri 05-Jul-13 21:16:56

Lovely house.

Pale housewife, maybe your dh should move there as he sounds like a bit of a cock

MarshaBrady Fri 05-Jul-13 21:17:25

Some odd shapes, too compartment-y for me.

Parisbanana Fri 05-Jul-13 21:18:11

Me neither. Most of it not to my taste at all.

Zynnia Fri 05-Jul-13 21:20:05

wow, it's lovely, but too 'styled' for a pleb like me. :-p I'd make Naomi cleaver wince. I'd want to put a picture over the fire (or that square hole!) I do really like it though! the bathroom is lovely. Why is she selling?

"Pull down and start again" - srsly?

McBalls Fri 05-Jul-13 21:20:30

Lovely, staircase and ensuite are particularly gorgeous but if I actually was in the market or a 3mil home then something about pictures 7 and 8 would be enough to put me off. Something a bit off/missing.

lalalonglegs Fri 05-Jul-13 21:20:48

I'm not convinced that the furniture has been brought in (maybe the orchids on the worktop though...). I've got a feeling that she commissioned the house herself which isn't something that people who have no interest in design and interiors tend to do - or when they do, it doesn't end up looking like that. I think it's pretty good, the spaces seem to work well and there's some great details - I really love the corner fireplace - plus it's nicely finished without being ostentatious. I'd live there if it wasn't in Henley.

Zynnia Fri 05-Jul-13 21:22:15

Branleuse, I was thinking that. I hate reading criticism of UJ, SO'C or next, probably KW as they have all been responsible for the children of their failed relationships unlike millions of dads all over the world who start again without a backward glance, and even if they do glance backwards they're not judged.. So tell mrpalehusband to get over himself.

Zynnia Fri 05-Jul-13 21:22:50

{this is property/diy not aibu} okay. blush

eurozammo Fri 05-Jul-13 21:23:00

I absolutely love it. I would deffo buy it if I had the money.

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline Fri 05-Jul-13 21:24:35

I love it too.

Gorgeous stairs.

Talkinpeace Fri 05-Jul-13 21:29:13

I do not care whose house it is : it does not work as a flexible space
and I know the area : much better use could be made of that square footage.

but then my next house will either be a new build or a rebuild of catastrophic damage or a demolish rebuild.
I don't like most other peoples taste
but in past house sales they seem to like mine

bico Fri 05-Jul-13 21:31:54

Strange she's selling as she only moved in a couple of years ago.

bico Fri 05-Jul-13 21:32:38

She didn't commission the house, she remodelled and extended an existing house.

Maisieskates Fri 05-Jul-13 21:33:07

We've got the (Ikea) lampshade she has in the bedroom. (That's the only similarity with our place!)

I love it.

echt Fri 05-Jul-13 21:33:16

That shiny steel chimney thing in the bedroom is odd. And I know it's just paint but that huge, blank charcoal chimney breast is strange. The barbie setting outside seems to bear no relationship to the garden it's in.

shallweshop Fri 05-Jul-13 21:33:33

Wow, I wouldn't say no if I had the money!

WeAreEternal Fri 05-Jul-13 21:43:51

I was told a while ago by a very reliable source in the business that most celebs move out of their homes before the list them for sale, the agents then get stylists in who refurnish the whole house with 'stock' furniture.
They even do it in a way to make it look as if it could be the celebs furniture, so if they have a DS and two DDs they will furnish the bedrooms for a boy and two girls.
That's why if you ever do see a celebs house for sale there are never any pictures or family portraits anywhere or personal looking items of any kind, it's all just nice and tasteful. And big bowls of tomatoes.

Justfornowitwilldo Fri 05-Jul-13 21:45:45

It's the flue for a wood burner.

Erlack Fri 05-Jul-13 21:48:30

I like tomatoes...I guess a lot of it is just my taste. Then again I have just bought a totally impractical house with tons of stairs next to a river when I have two small children, one toddler aged.

Relaxedandhappyperson Fri 05-Jul-13 21:49:45

Wonder how much she's spent doing it up. The asking price is a LOT more than she paid.

Xmasbaby11 Fri 05-Jul-13 21:51:33

It's beautiful! But I don't like the fireplaces and it'd be a bugger to heat.

bico Fri 05-Jul-13 21:52:45

500,000 Knowing the area I think she is optimistic if she thinks she'll get the asking price.

mydoorisalwaysopen Fri 05-Jul-13 22:04:24

We've got the car rug the children's room - again, end of similarity. Who's SO'C?

kitsmummy Fri 05-Jul-13 22:45:58

Oh god, I pretty much need that house, nicest i've seen in a long time

NewLifeDownSouth Sat 06-Jul-13 07:09:05

Love that corner fireplace

purplewithred Sat 06-Jul-13 07:25:50

Gorgeous, I'll put in an offer tonight after I've won the lottery.

marleebrodie Sat 06-Jul-13 08:58:50

I think it is all her own furniture.
She did a Come Dine with me on Tv years ago in her previous house and I recognise some of the pieces.
Her previous house was prettier .

PerilsAsinger Sat 06-Jul-13 12:16:53

The only thing I don't like about it is the shower room. There's no curtain/glass. What's that all about? Splashes all over the floor and I get cold as soon as I turn off the hot water.

Flossiechops Sat 06-Jul-13 12:41:19

Stunning - absolutely love it!

valiumredhead Sat 06-Jul-13 12:47:00

God no! I could spend 3 mil much better. For every one thing I like there were 5 things I dislikedgrin

valiumredhead Sat 06-Jul-13 12:50:21

I do like a big drive thoughgrin

RCheshire Sat 06-Jul-13 12:50:58

Agree with valium. Nice if you are looking for an upmarket version of Ikea (& I do think very nicely done if that Scandinavian style is what you're looking for) but does very little for me.

I'd prefer this at one third of the price. Granted wouldn't be that price in Henley!

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-39771019.html

PerilsAsinger Sat 06-Jul-13 13:27:20

RCheshire - I think you've gone a bit off topic there. We're talking about a house in a particular area. Why link to a house in a different area for a different price - I don't get it.

RCheshire Sat 06-Jul-13 13:38:27

When people say they don't like a style of house (as a few have) I like to see what they do like.

valiumredhead Sat 06-Jul-13 14:16:17

So do I!

PerilsAsinger Sat 06-Jul-13 14:41:24

Valiumhead - what things do you dislike about this house then?

PerilsAsinger Sat 06-Jul-13 14:41:37

sorry, valiumredhead

valiumredhead Sat 06-Jul-13 15:00:17

Thought you'd never ask grin

It's not my type of house at all,I want to grow clematis up the outside to soften the edges which defeats the point of the house completely!

The kitchen , nice work space but too bleak and stark.

The chimney flue thing in the bedroom, odd.

Odd en suite with not shower screen, not keen on wet room type bath rooms.

The fireplace in the family room-so small for such big wall, looks out of proportion.

The TV room looks like a warehouse and I loathe halogen lights in ceilings.

I'm sure Ulrika feels the same and that's why she's movingwink grin

I can't view the other link so can't comment on it unless
Someone can make it clickable for me as I'm on my phone --and I could rip that to shreds too--grin

valiumredhead Sat 06-Jul-13 15:02:25

Odd there's not more pics of the bedrooms, only 2 and it's a 6 bed house.

PerilsAsinger Sat 06-Jul-13 15:04:13

Valiumredhead - minor things that you dislike then. I think we all feel like that when we buy a second hand house.

valiumredhead Sat 06-Jul-13 15:08:29

I'd have to knock out down and start again, the land is lovely and locationgrin

valiumredhead Sat 06-Jul-13 15:10:37

It not out.

Not minor things, the house would not work for me at all, will ask Dh what he thinks when he gets in, don't think he'd like it either.

I LOVE property porn and find it fascinating how one smile person can love a house and another hate itsmile

Methe Sat 06-Jul-13 15:33:27

It's gorgeous!
