Renting property and mice....

I rent out a property and my tenants have got in touch to say they now have mice after living there for 3 years without a problem. Do I need to sort out this for them or is it their responsibility.

Assuming they aren't leaving ridiculous amounts of food around in the open, attracting them, then you have a responsibility to keep the property in a fit state.

It'll be a joint effort, realistically; get the pest control men round, they will supply traps/poison, and also advise where the mice might be getting in (so where you need to block holes). You need to pay for this.

I rent a property and rent out a property. We have mice in the place we rent, and have been told it is our problem. We were fine for a long time, then the little buggers started getting in. We use traps here.

It's difficult to block all the holes into a house, and some may be air bricks which can't be blocked. Mice can dislocate their joints to pass through incredibly small holes so it is difficult to stop them. I think it has been the incredibly cold weather that has forced them in.

As a landlady, if you are keeping the property in good nick then I don't see that it is your problem. I would not expect to pay if my tenants got mice and the property was in good repair.
