Recommendations for Removal companies North West England

Hi-am probably moving house early 2010 (just some details to finalise) and want to know about removal companies. My husband thinks that hiring a van for a week would be a better way to move our stuff (I am horrified at the thought of being required to do heavy furniture shifting- he says he will get help but he is not good at asking friends for help). So I want to check out recommendations preferably for local companies. So if anyone is willing to share from North West England, please let me know. I can be more specific about my location if there are people out there who have moved recently and can share

Would you be using Stockport based removal firms or are you too far from there?

Sorry, probably too far. I live north of Manchester by approx 150 miles. Still, any experiences welcomed- like what to expect them to do and what I should do
