Securing a tall bookcase

Sorry, this is probably a stupid question
but how do you secure a bookcase against the wall?

I am worried dd or her friends will drop it onto themselves.

you can get some sort of fixings and you attach it to the wall via a sort of strong nylon mesh thingie ... hth

that sort of thing does exist, as we had it for a mahoosive TV cabinet, but DH dealt with it.

you get a small bit of cnvas strp screw it to the bag of the bookcase and inot the wall, should be enough to stop a topple, also weight it more at the bottom than the top

i would ask at the DIY shop, i am too ashamed to phone DH and ask him what it is really called

yup, done the more weight at bottom than top thing

Ikea furniture comes with them .

The nylon stip is a bit like seatbelt stripping. About 1.5-2cm wide and10cm long.

Attatch it to the wall about 4-5cm below the top of the level of the wardrobe (with a washer and a screw). Move teh wardrobe into place. Pull the strap taught on top of the wardrobe and screw with a washer onto teh top of the wardrobe.
