If so, how do you keep it warm moved here before the cold
Set in and the house is always freezing - even when radiators are turned round to max. It's only 12 years old! It's not even 'rising'
As upstairs is cold!

It makes a lot of difference if you have proper loft insulation.
Also draft excluders, thick curtain on front door, lots of rugs on floorboards and on carpets. Warm footwear is a must I think
My sil swears by her electric blanket, she has one in her bed and another on the couch.

Just moved to one. It was bitter before we figured the radiators out but it's been toasty ever since, though downstairs is still ice cold (no carpet/rugs and we don't put the radiators on down there since we prefer hanging out upstairs). Are your radiators pumping out decent heat or might they need checking? Is the whole thing cold laminate rather than cosy carpet? Was your loft 'insulated' as well as ours was before we went up and did it properly? Do you have a huge hole in your roof from the idiotic previous owners? Do you have decent windows?

I realise this is a ridiculous question, but have you bled the radiators?

I have managed to sort it - turns out the radiator dial on the boiler was turned to the lowest!! Omg what a difference this eve....
