Has anyone sold a house they absolutely love?

We are selling our house. It is the right thing to do, I totally believe that. We are moving to another area (escape to the country!) and starting a business. It's a whole life change.

I totally love my house. It has massive kerb appeal and for the 17 years I have lived in it every time I see it my heart lifts! Despite really wanting this new life, I think I'm going to be really upset to leave. It feels like leaving home

Has anyone else felt this, and how did you cope?

Yes I did, sold my beloved tiny terraced Victorian home in a fab area. My dc have flown the nest and my new dh and I upped sticks to a rambling detached with drive, garage, outhouses and in a nearby area. Was very emotional I loved my home but two years on I love, love, love this one.
I decluttered everywhere turned the terraced house into a showhome that made it feel a lot less like my home and I kept it that way which was hard. We sold to a lovely young family exactly the ages mine were I moved in and we keep in contact with them though I've never been able to go back in

yes

It helps to empty it, and perhaps redecorate, before you move, so it doesn't seem like your home any more. I appreciate this might not be possible.

I don't want to go back.

It is hard, but you know the reasons why you are selling and that does make it easier. The key for me was to declutter and then declutter again. I don't want to goback but I do miss the space.
