Fire rated down lights

Hi I need 12 of these but they seem very expensive (£20+ each). Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced supplier with decent quality?

Try tlc, tool station or screw fix. Generally their prices are the lowest. Fire rated down lights are expensive. Do you really need 12?

It seems to be recommended now. However am I right in thinking LED ones don't need to be fire rated? This might be a better option.

The fire problem is that the plaster ceiling, which is fire resistant, has had holes cut in it that smoke and flames can get through, to suffocate and incinerate people in rooms above, and to set fire to the wooden joists and floorboards and to melt the electrical cables.

You can get smoke hoods that go over the lamps and the holes. They are nor very expensive. They are lined with a material that swells up when it gets hot.

Better still is a ceiling with no holes.
