Butler Sink replacement tap recommendations

Looking for bridge lever taps for my butler sink and prices seem to range from £70 - £300!

Any brands to avoid?
Looking at Bristan, Astracast, Rangemaster, (Perrin and Lowe at the higher end of the budget)

Do you get what you pay for?

What should I be looking for in terms of spec?

Why do you want a bridge tap?

Long-neck bib taps more in keeping.

Good question!
Didn't know those existed I guess, if I'm honest!
We have these at the minute but I'd like lever taps and water that flows rather than clunks when the tap is turned on

They are on wooden worktops which have gone black where the tap leaked for years, it looks but hoping the joiner can work his magic on it

Are these the ones you suggested?

yes, something like that. The long neck is so you can fill a bucket under them, which was important in the days of Butler sinks. I meant Pillar taps, bib taps go on the wall.

I prefer Bristan, but they have very few lever bridge taps, and I don't find them attractive. They do offer a long-neck Regency, it has a capstan you can turn with wet soapy hands, not a lever. Technically you can swap lever heads onto any tap, if you can be bothered.

If you have a spanner, you can put these on. They include all the moving parts of the tap, so are likely to improve performance, unless the seat is badly eroded.

You can get unbranded ones cheaper, just remove "Bristan" from the Search.

p.s.

if the taps come out of a worktop, you will get less dripping stains from pillar taps, because they can only drip from the spout, which is over the sink. Mixers may drip from the pivot.

Thanks PigletJohn
I always thought I wanted a butler sink/wooden worktops until we bought a house with them!
