In the process of planning a new basic kitchen. I want it to look nice, but don't want to spend lots of time and money. Hopefully a bespoke kitchen is somewhere in my future, but unfortunately, not at the moment.
I am considering white gloss cabinets, with a black slate floor, and white metro tiles for splash back with grey grout.
- thinking of getting a black granite countertop with mirrored flecks in, but worry that it has been too popular for too long, and wonder if it will look classic or dated? What other classic looks should i consider?
- Also, what thickness is standard for countertops? What would you recommend? I've found some that are 20 mm thick (stock item, so less expensive), but that sounds possibly cheap looking and could be brittle?
Any other recommendations for granite?
Thank you.
