tipping builders??

We're finally nearing the end of a big (7-month) building project. Most of the workers have come and gone (to other projects with the same firm) but the bloke overseeing everything has been fantastic. It's overrun slightly but the quality and attention to detail have benefitted as a result.

Just wondered if it would be the norm/ appropriate to show our appreciation in some way? If so, how? He's in his 40s (guessing), Polish (if relevant), has a small family).
