A compass and a look round for high things is much better, and quicker, and doesnt need internet access.

well yes - but it can give you a pretty good idea before you go along to view

Did you try the satellite view? try zooming onto where you live now and see if it's accurate

It works really well on my property because I have a north facing back garden which would possibly put people off but that site shows that no houses except my own affects the back garden re shadowing.

So in a way, slightly better than a compass if someone was looking at it before viewing my house if it was up for sale.

A look on a map will tell you before you go to view, and if you dont know the area the contour lines indicate nearby hills.
