Goodbye street - here are some things I wont miss

Finally moving next week!

Here are some things I wont miss about my local area:

  • The large number of people who seem to think it's acceptable to just dump anything that wont find into the wheelie bin onto the pavement in front of their house. Fridges, mattresses, sofas, whatever.
  • The man a few doors down who sells secondhand cars on the side, and at any one time has 5-6 cars parked in the road taking up all the spaces.
  • My ancient neighbour who can talk at you without pausing for breath for half an hour given the chance. One continuous monologue which is uninterruptible. We hide from him.
  • All the people who built (probably illegal) outhouses in their garden, but instead of connecting them to the mains drainage, just let all the waste water drain out of a pipe into the back lane behind. My shoes got soaked once.
  • The people down the road who are incapable of putting bin bags in their wheelie bin, so they are never collected, and so their front garden resembles a landfill site.

Phew. I'm moving away from it all!

Happy moving! Hope your new home is surrounded by more community minded neighbours, your current lot sound painful Shock

This sounds like quite an antisocial area. The local council would be keen to hear of waste water (I presume you don't mean sewage!) running into the lane and into the rainwater drains.

Good luck with the move!

Can I join you, mine are not as bad as yours but still a pain in the arse.

Students, commuters and now taxis using the road for parking / waiting and blocking drives.

The ongoing building work - everyone is squeezing loft extensions in - builders start work before 8am even on weekends and there are non-stop skips being removed.

Teenagers smoking weed next door and it coming into my garden, where are kids are playing.

Now got one nearish neighbour and a road where there is hardly anyone parks on the road, counting down to our move. Good luck with yours!
