has anyone had any experience with this range? and what is your general experience with argos bedroom furniture comapred to ikea?
I understand the quality and value from ikea. I have not had any experience with argos furniture, I am thinking of this for DD (8)

normally we would consider something like stuva

Or can someone suggest another set/system?

I've had a wardrobe from there for my teenage DD and it fell apart after a year. We rebuilt it, with more screws and proper glue for the drawers, and it's just about holding up now.

I would buy one from Argos again.

We had these years ago for both girls and they were fine.

No don't touch the Malibu range. We had some drawers and wardrobes from there and they were pretty crappy. wDWardrobes ended up boarding out out lift after we took them apart to move and they were really rickety when we put them back together. has the desk and it's ok but the drawers aren't great.

We have the Nordic range in both DCs bedrooms. Rubbish and I won't buy Argos furniture again. When it gives up completely I'll be getting Ikea.

I had 3 sets of this for my DCs.

Do not touch them!!! They've all fallen apart.

The bottom of the drawers have all sagged and a couple of drawer fronts have come off too.

They were never overloaded or treated badly, just shit quality.

I've just redone one of my DC's room with the Malm range from Ikea and it's much more substantial.

I find Argos furniture is smaller than it looks in the catalogue, and is made cheap to sell cheap. If you are handy you can add wood glue to all the joints during assembly (or after it falls apart if you prefer).

Have a look around, there may be a furniture importer in your town with a warehouse in some out-of-the way industrial estate. You can have a look at the stock, they will probably not have much of a showroom or sales staff. There's one near me, I don't know how common they are. Don't buy unseen.

I wouldn't touch Argos furniture again with a barge pole. Poor quality, flimsy and looks cheap.

I bought an Argos desk once. It was proper crap. Really amazingly crap.

Nope don't do it! The instructions are pants and the quality isn't very good :( the bottoms fall out very easily. IKEA instructions are so much better and such good quality

Drawers fall apart and are too shallow for their height at the back, so stuff falls down behind. Ikea much better value.

Argos great for many things but Malibu is their most most basic. We have a Malibu desk and it is too flimsy to move, drawers are too shallow to hold much and the bookcase has no back, so nothing to give it strength or stop the books falling out. But at £50 all in for desk with bookcase and drawers, there is a place for it.
