Moving to Braintree?

Hi all, we have seen a house we like in High Garrett Braintree but havent a clue about the area, we have a 6yr, 5yr & 2yr old children & my hubby works at Liverpool Street London. We currently live in Thurrock & kids go school in Upminster which is lovely but we are now wanting to move out & get away from the dartford bridge traffic etc. Would love chelmsford but the price of what we want is too highly xx

Hi, I know the area quite well. I think it's a nice area but what I like you might not. One thing I would look into is the trains from braintree to Liverpool Street they're not very regular.

I'd say go for a couple of hours, walk around and see what you think

I don't think it's that nice. It has a big town street view it. But generally it's not great.

High Garrett is not really Braintree.
I am in Halstead and it is about a 5 min drive from here.
High Garrett is more Gosfield, which is a lovely area imo.

I would suggest Coggeshall then if Kelevdon station is ideal.

It's so hard, we have made our minds up on the move but it's differcult finding the right area as its a long term family home & I'd hate to move to an area that's not that great & feel unsettled. Also our home is sold & buyers are putting pressure on us to find somewhere! 😱 X

Maybe you could do a tour of the area at the weekend? Visit some places and see what you think.

I'm sure you could get something nice in chelmsford for that price but it wouldn't be as big with as much outdoor space if you went further afield

There are houses in Chelmsford in your budget. I don't know how to do the link but for £625K you get a 4 bed in Chelmerton Ave (very naice road) massive garden. I know the area well as I live 20 minutes walk away.

I love Chelmsford, wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
