We are currently living in North Finchley and planning to moving out of London to get an affordable 3 bed house. The prices here and in Barnet are way out of our reach so we are looking to move further out towards Potters bar. We have a 2 yr old daughter and we are looking for a place which is safe and secure.

I know quite a few families in Potters Bar and they are all happy. Look at secondary catchment. The Owens catchment is tiny and the only friend who got Chancellors and not Mount Grace lives closer to Mount Grace!

Seems to be a good choice of nurseries.

Good theatre, nice restaurants.

We are in Barnet so I know PB very well. It's a great area for families though I don't know specifically about schools. The only downside I can see is that it's not very attractive, but from a practical point of view, it has loads of stuff: mainline station, restaurants, theatre, swimming pool, park and also - like Barnet - is a very quick drive from loads of brilliant stuff for families and lovely countryside for walks. Also v near St Albans and quick train to Cambridge.
