mortgage and bills and stuff

Hoping to complete on my first house on Friday!
If I complete on Friday, when will my first mortgage payment be due?
When will I start paying all the council tax/water/electric etc?
I'm assuming the following month but would just like to doubly check!

Your mortgage company should have given you a payment schedule - check worth the solicitor. All utilities/ council tax become yours from day of completion so take meter readings and contact the companies to set up standing orders etc. Congratulations!

We completed mid April and our first mortgage payment isn't until the beginning of June and is slightly higher than it will be for subsequent months because it's for a month and a bit. Mortgage repayments are usually in arrears ime.

Like most people, we received a letter from the mortgage company about 1 week after completion at the new house and it stated date of first payment and how much it would be. It was about 5 weeks. It was higher than subsequent payments.

Mortgage provider should set payment date around 30 days after completion .
In regards to council tax,if you already paying council tax for old property you can just call council and notify change of address.They will send updated bill.
Water,gas,electric don't worry about ..deal with them when their letters come through the post:)

congratulations! Although...you say 'hoping to complete' which implies you haven't exchanged yet?

read the meters on arrival and find out who the suppliers are, then contact them to take over the accounts. Don't sign up to any fixes until you've done a comparison to see who gives the best unit rate and standing charges. This is a bit tricky when you don't have any usage records so you may need to wait a month or two before starting to shop around.

you need to get in touch with broadband/phone supplier as soon as you have exchange as they can take a while to set up.

Contact utilities get it all on direct debit tho especially council tax
You can ask for gas/ electric/ water to be taken monthly - saves a big bill 3 times a year
Duel fuel is usually cheaper- check out price comparison websites
