Painting upvc window frames?

Hi has anyone done this? I really like the look of the grey window frames but cannot afford to replace the window frames. I know that you can but specific upvc primer then paint with a waterproof top coat. Has anyone actually done this with success? Thanks

Do a search on here - there have been a few threads on just this subject Smile

yes I've done this on all my upvc windows. Start off with Zinsser 123 primer then just use any paint on top - I used cheap b&q satinwood paint and its washable and has been fine.

How is the finish? Does it look obviously painted?

nope definitely not obvious - there is only one window which i messed up that you can tell has been painted, because i accidentally got some on the rubber seals because as impatient as i am, i decided to use some cheap masking tape i had around the house instead of good quality stuff, and it bled all over the seals! I have since learned i could have just removed the seals doh!
