his room will be dark grey or dark teal. Nice chunky beech bed and chest of drawers. Fairly plain.

I can only find boring plain pendant shades or crystal things. Normal ceiling height, fairly central. Suggestions please..

Ds1 has this 3 light thing from Ikea. We fitted it with LED bulbs also from Ikea so it costs very little to run and at £15 for the light it is a complete bargain.

I want one of these Ikea ones but I can't justify it Sad I think it would work for a teen boy.

I quite like the £50 ikea one (modern, industrial, large), but not quite it - although I feel Ive looked at so many now I wouldnt know it even if I saw it

B&Q have a range of modern LED light fittings - got one last week for DS's room - which is also grey (but with lime) and it was £18

sunnushores; the white looks translucent so I don't think it will look too stark. Why not get one of those led colour change bulbs to go with it? My ds has one and thinks it brilliant!

Have ordered Kapow and am really pleased ( mainly to have got it done at last ). I havent brought bulbs for years, so LEDs all new to me. Will investigate.

Thanks gatekeeper. Have brought!

As my energy bulbs die should I be replacing them with LED (non colour changing!) bulbs then?

will be a few weeks until we move into new house, but will do.

On the look out for blinds now if you have any ideas? (for all rooms). Last house brought linen roman blinds from Tuiss & Blinds2Go. Really loved them but attempting to be braver this time and go for some pattern (eek). House style is country (more shabby than chic though!).
