If I had unlimited time and money I would love to fix this house. What a time warp! I bet it was cutting edge when it was last done.

(I'm new at links, hope it worked)

What a beautiful house. What's the price like? Does it allow for gutting some refurbishment?

I love it!! I think if you just replaced the carpets to a neutral colour the fabulous retro wall paper would look amazing, and I love the bathroom too - again I'd make the floor neutral and keep that bath, I honestly love it!

You have a great structure to work with there.

Oh that could be a stunning house! Would need total refurb, wiring, heating hot water etc but could be amazing!
Somehow the wallpaper and kitchen tiles are so bad they are cool! ( or maybe I just haven't had enough coffee yet!!!)

This is just dream stuff for me. It's 380k, which is a decent price for it's location and condition, but we'll out of my price range!
I just think it would be such a fab house, after some serious carpet pulling.
Individually I like the patterns but together they give me a headache

Wow, I think whoever owned it had great taste and the wallpaper is amazing even today. I love the bathrooms too - I think that is the first one I would try to restore and update rather than rip out and start new.

Sadly, I suspect all the wallpaper is probably in quite a deteriorated condition given its age. I would definitely be saving a piece and framing it though.

God, look at the tiling in the bathroom. it's BEAUTIFUL. I hope some fucker doesn't buy it and rip all that out. It would be sacrilege.

It's beautiful! If I had the money I'd buy it now and move all the way up there!

Wow, what a house! I would love to renovate that.

I love the kitchen. I would keep it and put a 1960s dining set at the far end.

Gosh that could be an amazing house! The bones of it are incredible. You'd need new wiring, central heating, probably new windows and lots of money but it has some beautiful features.

I'd retain some of the bathroom tiles but not all of them (many look stained and cracked, I wonder if they'd clean up?) as all 4 walls tiled like that is just too much IMO. But what a gem of a house.

The bathroom tiles might be redeemed. But the curtains, omg, The Curtains!!

Report
Pipistrella · 31/01/2016 10:08

Redeemed? Just try and get tiling like that now. The quality and the design and the tiles themselves - they should be preserved.

There's not many tiling jobs I've seen that would come anywhere NEAR that standard.

Beautiful property. Especially the tiling in the bathroom.

I feel a little sad for the house when I see these pics, hope whoever buys it will not rip the character out of it and shove hundreds of downlighters in each room.

sooperdooper · 31/01/2016 13:53

I think the kitchen is cool in a retro way, again with a neural flooring I think it could look amazing

Hope someone doesn't rip out all the character when they buy it, it's crying out for a really sympathetic refurb

I would change nothing apart from the green basin in the bathroom which doesn't match.

I'd keep the kitchen/utility/bathroom. I'd restore the fireplaces.

It's fantastic.

That house is amazing! I just would love those tiles. The only thing I would be itchy to rip out are the gas fires.

Not entirely relevant, but I used to live on Pilrig Street years ago (in a basement flat). There are some lovely houses on that street.

Qwebec · 31/01/2016 20:23

Laurie the green basin does not match the tub but they both match the tiles

I can't decide if I like it or not
