Experience / recommendations for pocket doors

We are having some work done which will include small utility space and small ensuite. To make the most of the space, the architect suggested pocket doors (the only alternative really would be the doors opening outwards rather than inwards).

I do think it sounds like a great solution but would love to hear they work as well as expected, and if particular brands are recommended.

We love the one Dh put in to our Ensuite. He bought an Eclisse one from Ironmongery.com Not the cheapest, but it had everything he needed in and works beautifully.
He had to take the false wall out as it was crooked, so he put the pocket door in seeing he was building a wall anyway.
We'd had one in the past in a rental house we had when we first got married.

Thank you, that's really helpful!

I'm in a similar situation and was wondering how people find them for sound proofing compared to normal internal doors? Worried about wobbly and poorly closing doors in our new extension!

When ours went in, in our bedroom en suite I wondered how loud the bathroom fan would be and have been very pleased with it. I really don't hear the fan once the door is slid shut. Although that may be the door that Dh bought, I'd imagine you could always get a solid door for even more soundproofing. A door doesn't come in the kit. All the rails, brushes, frame for inside the wall and all the trim bit are included. You need to buy a door and the little finger pull I must remember to order a finger pull on ebay

Thank you. We are in a 1930s house and are hoping to use the existing / original doors. Might give the company a ring to check. They're solid so should reduce noise.
