John Lewis kitchen - fitted in one week - is it possible?

That's it really.

We'll eventually get round to a new kitchen and I've seen a lot about JL kitchens fitted start to finish in one week.

Sounds brilliant - anyone had it done?

Ours is tiny - so it would seem feasible - just wondered what the limits are and how it's gone for others

Ive not heard of the JL offer but I think it's easily possible as long as you're not needing any extra electrics, plumbing, tiling, flooring and that any new appliances are ready on the week of installation.

I know - it really does sound to good to be true!

I've checked their website again - and they do qualify it a bit, saying:

"We aim to fit your new kitchen within a week, although this is dependent on the size and complexity of the project. You'll usually have a working kitchen at the end of the first week though, which will allow you to perform basic cooking tasks and use your sink in the usual way."

Amazing!

I bet it costs, of course, a packet - but that would be well worth it to have it done so quick.

Also adjustments to floor surface!
Then you need someone to tile and grout walls.

Yes our JL kitchen was done in a week, floor & tiling included all in 5 days. Our kitchen is tiny though.

@ Crusoe - that's brilliant! I'd really love to have our kitchen done by them.

Ours is tiny too - really tiny - roughly 9 feet x 6 feet.

Would you be willing to give me a ballpark cost for yours? And a sense of how long it takes from first going to the store, to the design appointment, to final installation?

If you don't want to reveal on here - feel free to PM me - of course, I know cost will vary according to style of kitchen and so on - it's just, I don't live near a John Lewis and I believe (according to website) you have to go in to a Kitchen branch first, and then have an appointment - and it's all a lot of travel and trouble if the costs really are prohibitive

We'd be having almost no floor cupboards (no room) but dishwasher, washer cooker etc and then wall cupboards, small amount of tiling, and so on

We probably would love to spend no more than £5k but could stretch to£7k/£8k and cut back on other stuff

An independent company fitted one of ours in a week and was great value so might be worth looking around locally.
