Curved overmantel mirrors

Are they elegant and timeless, or a bit dated?

I'm after something simple like this JL one but it isn't wide enough for our mantelpiece, so I think the next step is to find a plain one and paint it a pale putty shade. Nothing ornate, no gilt, and certainly no fucking 'distressing'.

I can't remember the last time I saw that curved shape in anyone's house and I'm doubting myself!
