Flat or curved towel rail?

And how much do standard curved ones stick out? Is it a big difference?

I'm having a larger towel rail fitted in my bathroom ...did the calculations and current one is less than a 1/4 the recommended BTU for a room that size - no wonder it is freezing in there...
Plumber is fitting a new boiler so now is the time to get it done - he has said better get your own...as people get fussy about them and he can't get a better deal than I can. Looking around to get one the right size I'll have to get one online so need to order it asap... think curved might be best? Easier to fit towels on etc?
But then bathroom is an odd shape - and where it is if it sticks out too much it could be inconvenient...
So are curved better than flat? and how much do more do they stick out compared to a flat one?

I don't think it makes much difference whether curved or flat. Watch out for where the fixings are though - more expensive ones will fix to the wall by the edge of the frame (making it easier to hang towels). Cheaper ones will have fixings which can block easy hanging of towels (look like blobs between the bars)

Think it's personal taste. My builder said curved as easier to hang towels. But, I prefer the look of flat ones.

They only stick out a tiny bit - a few centimetres - and it is easier to hang a thick towel. If they have those between-rail brackets, remind the fitter to slide them right to the edge when attaching them to the wall. There isn't much in it though!

White ones give out more heat. You can also get magnetic and hook on rails to fit on some of the heated ones - could be useful.

Thanks - if it is only going to stick out a few cms more it should be ok - really hard to tell from online photos!
So I am going for the curved one I think...because of ease of hanging towels - also I got mould on the wall behind my current small one cos the towels were snug against the (bare - Blush -has been half decorated for over a year - must get off MN!) plasterboard...
I know about the blobs! I have that problem now! It is only attached to the wood frame under the plasterboard with one at the bottom - the top two are only attached to plasterboard - plumber thinks the fitters put them close to the support as they thought it would be stronger or something. This much bigger one will be so heavy they will have to cut into the plasterboard to put an extra bit of wood support (I think it is called a noggin -but I might have made that up!). So they won't be restricted to the current wood frame... they will be as far apart as the radiator allows.
I also am getting one with more big gaps between rails - because current one only has one gap and with the close together blobs - I end up draping one towel over the top - reason I got rust spots on them Sad...I've got a small chip near the connector and it is slightly rusty - I thought it was coming from inside but plumber says it is from the damp towels on the outside .
And I have to have white really - almost impossible to get a chrome one with a big enough output (it is a big funny shaped room) and has to be tall and narrow - the only chrome ones I've seen were £1000+! (I did see one that was more than £2k - I think even nearly £3k but it did have a LCD TV fitted into it too .... seriously)
