It was sold a couple of years ago but it needed work then. Now it's back. SO GORGEOUS! Anybody want to lend me about 2.2 million?

Lovely garden and library room - not too keen on the purple though.

scatterthenuns · 01/08/2015 14:50

I hate it. The outside is nice, but I'd have to gut the insides!

Northernlurker · 01/08/2015 14:52

You can't gut the inside! That's the special bit Grin
I dread to think how much the owners have spent on it. It needed new heating, the works last time it was on the market.

wow - gorgeous - I love Arts and Crafts and a Gertrude Jekyll garden! Please invite me to visit when you have bought it............... I'll bring wine!

DoTheDuckFace · 01/08/2015 14:54

I like the outside too but all that wood everywhere, not for me.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 01/08/2015 15:07

Too much wood paneling for me, I'm not keen on Arts and Crafts houses, though I can appreciate the quality of the restoration. The purple kitchen is an abomination though.

mysteryfairy · 01/08/2015 16:09

Inconsiderate to only take 12 photos! I'd like to see the lot.

Wouldn't want to live there. Quite like the lilac aga but less keen on the island!

Pipbin · 01/08/2015 17:29

I claim that pictures 5 and 6 are of the same room with different furniture.

RaphaellaTheSpanishWaterDog · 01/08/2015 17:49

Yes please, I love it - but don't like some of the more contemporary touches, especially that awful island (although the lilac Aga is fab!). A Gertrude Jekyll garden too....wonderful!

We are huge Arts & Crafts fans/collectors and our current house has an Arts & Crafts extension complete with original features, so I guess it was bound to float my boat.

If you buy it OP, I'll be popping along with Bilbodog for a visit.....will also bring wine......

If you buy it I'll walk up for a g&t in the garden.

Bunbaker · 01/08/2015 18:09

I love the gardens. Not sure about all the wood panelling inside.

Toomuch2young · 01/08/2015 18:17

Hmm it's different anyway but for that money if want a lot more land and stables and a swimming pool
Not that I would mind if someone gave it to me, obviously!

bigkidsdidit · 01/08/2015 18:22

It's gorgeous. I love wood panelling. Up here in Scotland arts and crafts houses are often under a million, I'll find one for you Smile

bigkidsdidit · 01/08/2015 18:24

It's not 'mock style' anything Confused it's original arts and crafts

JassyRadlett · 01/08/2015 18:32

Gosh. They like purple, don't they?

Another who's not a fan of wood panelling. Love the garden.

bigkidsdidit · 01/08/2015 18:32

Actually northern you can keep yours I'm having this one

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 01/08/2015 18:34

I agree about the photos - all that house and only 12 photos - and half of them exterior shots! I want to see more of the inside.

Pipbin · 01/08/2015 18:34

Was that one the house where BBC 4 had the program about the couple moving out, Big?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 01/08/2015 18:37

bigkids that is amazing. Can you re link to the actual listing so we can see where it is and more crucially how much Grin

bigkidsdidit · 01/08/2015 18:39

Does that not link?

bigkidsdidit · 01/08/2015 18:39

I love York and really like that house.

I could tolerate the kitchen island, although it probably wouldn't be hard to change the door colors. I would have to say that I wasn't like that woman in Breaking Bad though.

nannyplumislostinspace · 01/08/2015 18:41

It's probably haunted if they are selling so soon!

YeOldeTrout · 01/08/2015 18:52

omg, Pipbin, well spotted re the furniture swapping.
