Victorian cabinet knobs

I have a chest of drawers where the original wooden handles keep falling off. They leave a 1cm hole in the front of the drawer. Any ideas how I would replace the handles? As all new handles appear to be fixed with a screw..

glue in the hole.

You will have to scrape out all old glue.

Presumably that would be to out the old handle back? What if I wanted to put one of the nice new handles with screws on??

Thanks again

look for one with a big enough escutcheon to hide the hole. You won't be able to make the wood match so try a brass or ceramic one. Put a large washer on the inside of the drawerfront to spread the pressure of the screwhead.

Fashionable knob shops probably buy their stock somewhere like here and add a 1000% markup.
