Oak kitchen with black worktops. What colour walls and floor?

Kitchen is due to be fitted in a couple of weeks.

We have gone for oak kitchen and black worktops. I loved the lighter worktops but they just didn't look right with the cabinets unfortunately.

Our last kitchen was walnut with black worktops and we had beige and brown tiles and natural hessian on the walls and it looked lovely.

This time we have an upstand so i'm not bothering with tiles, except maybe mosaic as a splashback, haven't decided this yet.

I still love natural hessian but our hallway, stairs and landing is going to be this colour and probably the study leading off too so didn't want the same colour in nearly the whole of the downstairs. I also love du lux willow tree which is like a sage green colour but until the kitchen is in, I don't know if it will go.

Any suggestions? We tend to stick to dulux really so no posh expensive paint please. Smile Our living room/diner is red and cream so don't want to have cream kitchen either.

I had an oak kitchen and black worktop in our last kitchen. We had a slate floor which looked gorgeous and cream walls. A very warm cream to start with, then went paler.

I think a sage green would look gorgeous esp with the natural hessian and red elsewhere. I'm loving slightly darker stronger colours ATM after years in the off white wilderness Grin

Our last house was always temporary and we did it up knowing we wouldn't be staying so I never spent much but made it nice as long as it didnt cost much so lots of plain painted walls. I am liking finally getting to use some colour and wallpaper now (much to DH's disgust, he'd have everything painted plain so less work for him to do, I haven't told him I want half wallpaper up to a dado rail in the hallway yet, he thinks we are doing it all plain but i've spotted lovely map wallpaper in b and q which will look great with natural hessian).

Dulux Overtly Olive sets oak off beautifully, it might be a bit dark if the room is small or badly lit though. It goes well with Natural Hessian too.

I have an oak kitchen with black worktop....and sage green walls. I originally painted the room beige white but it looked insipid. Now it is more dramatic.

I was going to suggest a soft green - looks lovely with oak.

And flooring in cream or beige.

I've used dulux willow a few times. I love it but it might be a little on the cool side for your room. I'd also go for something more sage-y.

Maybe colour match Farrow and Ball Elephant's Breath in Dulux. It goes with almost everything.

I have black cabinets with oak worktops and floors. The tiles bits are mosaic grey, black and chrome. After several dozen tester pots I went for deluxe sophisticated sage.

Thanks.

So it sounds like the sage green colours I like will go with the kitchen. I'll get a few testers I think to make sure I get the right shade. Will keep the floor light, cream or beige sound great.
