Hi,

Our new house will need a new front door straight away. Just looking up composite doors.

Are composite and rock doors the same thing?
Is there anything I should look for or aviod?
I'd like a heritage colour, like a sage green sort of thing

Anyone recommend any company's in south manchester?

Thanks.

Never heard of rock doors. Composite doors seem all the rage round here ATM!

A Rockdoor is a brand of composite door. We've got one and it's solid and energy efficient.

I think they do a Chartwell Green as well as a darker green.

I had a composite door at the house I jut sold. I loved it. It was about £800 from yaledoor.co.uk. I went for black, which I would not recommend!

Hi, thanks for the info, may I ask why you didn't rate the black one waffles ?

If it rained and dirt etc dried to it it was really visible and showed it, if that makes sense

We went for green, and then the nearly council estate had all of theirs replaced in the same green.
I still like it though. Very solid, no draughts, no noise.

We've just had one installed to replace the disastrous UPVC front door that we had. Ours is just a little darker than an Oxford blue. It's holding up well to dirt, compared with the upvc windows we have. It's very dusty, here, because of a race track behind our house, plus we have chipped off most of our pebbledash, so get a lot of dirt washing down.

We have a Rock door in Anthracite grey. Looks fab, and feels very secure.

I have a composite door and love it (and it's black!). We are end of terrace and our front door faces NDN front door and it's given us a bit more privacy. Plus there used to be an absolute gale going from the lounge room to the dinning room passing the front door!

All sounds very positive then, that's good. Thanks

We have one in white as our back door. Very solid, warm, and looks great. Cleans up nicely with a microfibre cloth and a squirt of stardrops.

We have a rock door. It seems very solid and a few people have commented along the lines of "there won't be anyone getting through that!"

Please don't buy from Yale Door! We had terrible issues with the first door and went on to get about 4 replacements none of which fitted properly. We eventually received a refund following months of complaints but I still shudder thinking of what an awful company they are trading on the reputation of Yale locks.
